Element Print Project 2011
2.) It is used in things such as fiberglass insulation as well as a containment or nuclear rods. These are the primary uses
3.) I had realized that boron can create a green flame and is also kept in capsule like I had drawn. Therefore placing a bunch of capsules falling into green fire with the atomic number and name seemed like a cool idea.
4.) I tried to make the fire as detailed as I could and based it off of an image I had found. For the capsules I used a basic pill shape.
5.) It's alright. I think that the picture already shown o the periodic table we had seen looked much better in comparison.
6.) If I could do this project over, I would focus more on making the pills detailed. I might actually not have put the pills in but kept the fire without a doubt.
Element Print Project 2011
For the project, the element that as chosen for was chlorine.
The steps that I took form making my idea for the print into a final print hI thought that the project was really because I never worked with a linoleum block before and it was cool carving the drawing out.

I believe that my final project turned out pretty good. If I were to do it again, I would have carved less of it away. This is because it makes it difficult to tell the difference between the numbers and the random lines.

Element: Cesium
Uses: It is in used in atomic clocks, and thermometers
I came up with the idea for my print by researching the history behind Cesium, which was it being named after the sky blue color it has in the spectrum.
I had first draw an idea, and then I traced that onto a linoleum block (Backwards), which I then carved out. After that, I swabbed some paint on it and printed a few pictures.
I think this project was a good learning experience. I was taught something I never knew and I had fun with the painting part.
If I was to do this project again, I would use a different element and experiment with all the things the element is used in. So I could have more than just one print.

Rhodium is the name of the element
Symbol: Rh
Atomic number: 45
Atomic weight: 102.905
Item used in picture. A One Gram Coin.
Used for Jewelry.
There were many different ways in which I came up with this project. One of the most
important ways was doing research for the project. I had got a lot of information about this
specific element. While researching I had decided to pick three different items I might do for
this project. The three items I picked for this project were earrings, a coin and a metal cell
phone. I thought that the coin was more useful because there was a lot of negative and positive
space in it. I also thought it would be fun to carve and matt the picture on a piece of paper. It
actually turned out to be good.
In order to craft such a great project it required a lot of steps. First I had get a piece of Lanolium
block and carefully carve the coin in it. After that I had to carve out the positive and negative spaces.
After this step I had to paint and paste the coin on four different sheets of paper that measured 6 by 6. Next I had to wait until all four of the sheets of paper are dry and then tear a piece of the paper off to make ridges on the sides of the paper. After that I had to matt each picture to a 8 by 8 black piece of paper. Then take a picture of one picture and upload it to the SLA blog. If you met these requirements then you had success with this project.
Overall I thought that this project was very fun and I really enjoyed doing it. I would really enjoy doing it again for future references.
If I would have to do this project over again I would make sure that I work in class and out of class. Also I would make sure that I complete everything on time and be more discipline so that I can get the job done.

Based on its properties the backgrounds range from a sunny farm land to a fire in the dead of night. I am very happy with my plates, mostly negative appearance. However in the future I want to use a less labor intensive process.

My project is a story book, but it was put in a video format.
I like the whole story i feel as if it was really good, and also explanatory.
I think i should've added some type of music something calming and like i guess childish sounding
Element Print Project 2011
This project was the same as "negative space drawing." Negative space is a space around a subject of an mage. This part of the drawing is usually neglected, or filled with scribbles. Negative space involves with concentrating on shading in the background and leaving the object white.
As for this art Printmaking project, I chose to draw a coin with with an atomic number, mass and boiling point of the element of copper and placed it inside and around the coin area. Coinage is made out of copper and I thought it would be fairly easy to use this as my printmaking project. There were many mistakes going on when carving the block. I accidentally carved the block way too deep which makes it seems rusty. The atomic numbers, mass numbers, and boiling point numbers did not really showed up. Only the the symbol (Cu) of the element did. When it comes to carving, I only carved the inside of the numbers, the coin, and leave the negative space as it is on the block.
I would have used other bright colors to bring out the drawing, but since copper has the color silver in it's product, I just wanted the color of the background to go with the element. There have been a lot of mistakes, but if I could go back to redo it, I would definitely try to be careful with the cravings.

Dylan Cordivari Q4
When it comes to art I enjoy letting my art express my feelings and personal interests. When I am drawing or building or painting I like to show who I am through my work. I try hard to make things look good. I want to show myself that I am good at what I do through my own eyes. If I think I did something well, then it doesn’t matter what someone else thinks.
When I work I usually just try to go with the
flow. I try hard to fix my mistakes. When I start my work I have a general
picture of what I want to make so I base all of my decisions on the original
picture and manipulate it until it comes out in a way that I like. I use
whatever materials I have that I feel will work to express that particular
picture. My technique constantly
changes each time I draw something or build something or do any kind of art. My
themes are always based off of things that I like or enjoy. Like swordplay,
medieval based mythology and music that I enjoy. I draw images of the things I like and draw things that inspire me.

To
produce the sound of the guitar, the player had to pluck at each string.
The way he changed the note was plucking at different parts of certain strings and holding certain strings down towards the top of the guitar. The guitar is shaped regularly. The strings are straight down from the top of the guitar to the middle. The big part is shaped as like…a circle with its two sides squished in. The creation and change of the sound makes me think of tension and the length of each string having something to do with the pitch. I think that as you tune the guitar, which is pulling the strings tighter or loosening them, you affect the damping. Since it would affect the damping, the sound would either travel slower or faster depending on the tension of the string.
Two
In a guitar, the sound is produced when you pluck the string of course.
The thing about it is that when you hold your finger in different places on the
string of the guitar, the sounds changes. The reason this is so is because the
wavelengths change, giving you a lower sound the longer the wavelength, and a
higher sound the shorter the wavelength, the frequency of the wave is also affected
by the wavelength. When the wavelength is short, the frequency is high and when
the wavelength is long, the frequency is low. In order to change the wavelength
you must hold your finger at certain parts of the guitar string, making the string
either shorter or longer when you pluck it with your other finger. The sound is
loud because of the vibration. In the guitar there is a hole in the middle and
a box kind of thing behind it. The vibration bounces off of that back piece of
the guitar and out through the hole.
To change the pitch of my instrument, I will do the same. I will hold
my fingers down at a specific spot on the string and pluck it. The physical
characteristics that are important in this instrument are the length of the
string and the tension of the string.
I will be using wood and copper strings. I chose to use these two things
because they are also used in guitars, harps, and other string instruments and
they all get good sounds. To play it, I will pluck the strings at certain
parts. My plan to construct this instrument is to build it just like how a harp
looks….or as close as I can get to one.

The
water bottle xylophone is played by a person striking bottles filled with different
amounts of water there. The bottles are filled to specific amounts so that the
waves change distance they have to travel to crash in the water. You change the
notes by striking a different bottle. The note is formed when the striking of
the object against the bottle shoots into the container and takes a set amount
of time to disrupt the water in the bottle producing a different note. This
makes me think that sound is changed and produce by sound waves interacting
with a medium of different distances and tensions in order to create the unique
sound. I think you can conclude that with a longer distance for the wave to
travel the deeper the sound will be because the more spread out the wave will
be at the point of impact.

2) As seen in the picture below, my element can be used for atomic clocks, use in medical procedures. This element is more of a side element and can be highly reactive to other elements. Rubidium is also used as the purple firework.
3) For my print, the idea of an atomic clock seems liked an easy concept so I stuck with it. It was either an atomic clock or fireworks.
4) For my final print, I basically stuck with my atomic clock idea and made it pretty.
5) I think that my final print is good in my standards, because I am not very good artistically. But I believe that it could be better.
6) If I were to do this project again, I would draw better and maybe do a different design.

Michael Levin died August 1st 2006. Every August 1st please take the time to remember who he was, even ONE minute of silence.
June 25th 2006, the day Gilad Shalit was captured. June 25th is coming up soon and I would like for you to get the word out about it. Just like I mentioned about Michael Levin, just take part of your day to commemorate him and I am only asking for ONE minute of silence.

Amelia Earhart Returns
What i like most about this project is the fact that we get to change history, what was hard though after the initial excitement was getting solid ideas that would be interesting and wholesome. The actions i make amelia earhart do speeds up the historical record because i make it so that she inspires women so that they have a huge leap into politics and the military and getting everything done efficiently. i thought that if women were a larger factor earlier, things would get done faster and people would be. Also because women are more emotional and mostly rule their actions by that, america is a more accepting and loving although with having a swelled military, america is still the most feared nation if they get pissed off. This project could get improved by slowing down and fully elaborating on different points. I also feel that it can be improved if only one other person was making it with me. If I had to do it over again, i would keep my folder in the classroom so i didnt lose it and have to start from scratch again. I would also plan my time better so that i could get it done before the due date just in case something happened.
