Trail Mix project

For this project for Algebra, we had to use formulas to compute the ideal trail mix for a snack company. This was one of the elaborate projects from this year. This project used systems of equations and inequalities, graphs and almost everything we have learned from this year. Ms. Tioanda's project are constructive and tedious, and i like the challenge but this project made me sometime frustrated because of the work required to complete it correctly. This was the final project for Algebra.

Spanish Essay

For the fouth quater benchmark, we had to write an essay comparing two songs; mone in spanish and one in english. I am especially proud of this project because aside an essay in french in middle school, this is the first essay I have written in a language outside my native. This was among my favorites because I got a very good grade on it. This is goign to remain a highlight because of all that.

Tour of Philadelphia en Español

This was a difficult project because we had to take a look at all of the places we go as we live in philadelphia. It was not hard to write directions in spanish and information about each of the places. It was also difficult to think of how people would react to the tour and think oh Philadelphia.

SLA en español for exchange students

This project was very fun. For it we had to create a video for a group of exchange students that were to come to our school. (hypothetically) We took them to all of the highlights of the school. It was fun to do humorous things. It was also nice to think about how we were making SLA look like to other people.

Family Tree en Español

For the first marking period we made a Family Tree and learned about all of the members of the family in spanish. We learned about each others families as we peer reviewed eachothers drafts. This lead into projects where we did the same exact thing but wiith friends and then ourselves. In the end there was a sort of contest that student were to judge which was best based on design and content.

Ingredients.Nutrition.Molecules.Benchmark!

This was one of the most nit picking project of the entire year. We had to research the ingredients of a particular food and as we went along this project evolved into a project where we had to put the ingredients into a word document, a poster board and then write a paragpah about each ingredient. Although it was nice to look at in the end, it was a complicated process that took more than a week to do. Lucky me i didn't have that many ingredients, which some people had some on the order of 80 per item.

Create-an-Experiment Benchmark

This was one of the projects we had that Mr.VK gave us the most freedom. We could pick from one of the experiments or design our own. Its was nice to have that kind of freedom. It was also fun to make our own experiment to have fun with.

Time Period Breakthroughs and Events

Our First BioChem project was to teach the entire class about a specific time period where technology was invented. My time period was everything before 300BCE. Technology in my group's time period included the wheel. There were 5-6 people in each group that were assigned to specific like technology, archetecture and disease. I am not a big fan of group projects, but there was a good participation in this project. It was most fun to present this project.

Graphs!

Another one of Ms.Tioanda's wonderfully constructive projects that requre much work but you are proud of in the end because you've spent a lot of work on them. We had to find a relationship between two things that would create an equation, table, graph and a page worth of analysis. Along with that, the 3 people in the group had to analyze eachothers data. Its fun when everyone participates.

Teaching the Class Binary Sequence

This was the first project we did and I felt at ease because in my previous school I did a project where I taught a class for a project. In a group we had to come up with a lesson plan to teach a fraction of the class Binary sequence, other teams taught fibonacci sequence and sequence of cubes. I was frustratingly reminded again of how some students choose to disrupt and manage to push you to the limit. However, teaching was fun and I enjoyed it.
