For our fourht quarter benchmark we had to wrie a paper that realted to or based on the book "To Kill A Mockingbird"

History Benchmark 4

We had to use the book To Kill A Mockingbird to compare with Jim Crow's laws.  We had to either search how the book effected the time period or write how the book made a difference to Jim Crow's laws.

History 4th quarter Benchmark

We were given three options, in which we had to connect a thesis to Kill A Mockingbird. I wrote a multiple paragraph on how a small twon reacts to change in our environment. This project lacked sufficient explanation, thus redid it twice.

for this benchmark we had to make a powerpoint about the life of the BaMbuti people and write about  government, economy, religion, domestic, cutting of the forest, buliding roads and villages, and pollution. we had to write a recommendation for what they should do to makes there lives easier.

The second benchmark was about making a dinner menu for king tut.

3rd quarter benchmark

for the third benchmark we had to write about whether king tutu should be put into museums. I said yes because of the educationa and value reasons. To do this we had to think of all the morals and religious aspects that sourned the egyptions

2nd benchmark

the second benchmark we were learning about King Tut. so we had to make a dinner party for him and his guestes based on the knowledge we learned in class on the people in egypt abnd how they would have a dinner party. We had to creat a menu and a table setting and were people were to sit and what they would get as party gifts and  the entertainment.

for our fisrt benchmark we had to make a power point and a letter to people who wanted to drill were the bamabuti lived in there forest. we had to argu that these people were hunter gathers who got everything from the forest and if they started drilling there they would destroy that.

In this class, we debated on whether it was right to display the artifacts from excavated Ancient Egyptian tombs in a five paragraph essay.

For our third quarter becnhmark we had to write a 5 paragraph paper on weather we think that King Tut's things from his tomb should be displayed in a museum. We had to take a side and defend it. For whatever side we picked we also then had to use the other side in the thrid paragraph and debate with ourselves.

For the second quarter benchmark we had to come up with a menu for an ancient egytpian dinner. We had to make sure that we were using the foods that they ahd in their time. We also had to make sure the the meal was believeable.

Third Benchmark for History

This benchmark was a 5 paragraph essay on weather or not king tut's tomb should be displayed in muesums.  We had to write about the benefits of the tomb and the downfalls of the tomb.  I wrote about the benefits of the tomb because there was alot.  The tomb brought us information about the Egyptians and what they did before our time period.  One of the tombs they found can also bring us medical information.

3rd Marking Period Benchmark History

We Saw the Tut exhibit in the Franklin Institute. After a week, we had a debate on whether it is okay to display Tut's stuff or not because of cultural or religious beliefs.

 I wrote a five paragraph essay on my point of view whether it is okay or not.

Second Benchmark for History

This benchmark was based on information about king tut.  We had to research on the Egyptian royalty.  This was our first group project for history and we had to divide many things into groups.  There was the menu of the food we were going to serve, and the invitations to everyone that was on the list to go to the dinner.  Also the seating arrangements for each person and the rank of each person.  I had to do the food on the menu.

Our first benchmark was on the six institutions and how Americans and Who ever you chose were different and the same.

2nd MP Benchmark

This is my second marking period benhmark for history. We created a menu for the pharaoh since we just finished studying Egypt's history. We created a menu for somekind of festival that we made up.

First Benchmark for History

Our first benchmark was a chart of the six institutions.  We related the six institutions we learned about Africa to any other place.  I did mines on China and it relates the institutions of US to the institutions of China.

History 3rd Quater Benchmark

After visiting King Tut at the Franklin Instsitute, many views were raised on whether or not Museums should be allowed to diplay exhibts of such rich kings. There were oppositions and propositions on this topic. I propsed it saying that they should for 2 basic reasons, the exhibit can be used for educational puposes and that it provides needed revenue. I wrote a 5 paragraph essayon this and I think by far it was one of the best papers that I wrote in history thus far. 

3rdquarterbenchmark

This benchmark had to do with King Tutankhamen and museums. It was a 5paragraph paper. We had to choose a side of whether we think the museums should or should not display artifacts like King Tutankhamen. We made up an argument on paper and then had a debate in class. I was on the side of they should display artifacts like King Tutankhamen, and one of my reasons were that they were using it for mostly educational purposes. But I did not do the argument I was one of the judges.

For our 2nd quarter benchmark we had to make up a script. It had to give information about how they would trade back in Egypt and a brief summary of Mansa Musa and how he made Timbuktu, in the most creative way possible. We had to work in groups this time and we and to act out the script in front of our whole class

Our 1st benchmark from Mr.Baird was a letter informing a group of people about the BaMbuti tribe. It was supposed to tell about their background, the way they live and what their beliefs are. I had to write the letter out giving as much information as possible. Then I had it checked many times, after that I had to turn it in for a grade.

History 2nd quarter benchmark

We did a lot of things for this benchmark. We told the story of Mansu Musa and Timbuktu and included details about the gold and salt trade and Mosques and Artitechture in Timbuktu. We also did a menu that planned a meal for King Tut. We had to plan an event so the project required a seating chart menu and games and recreation. It was a stellar project so it take a while to complete. The great thing about it was that it was a group project so the work was divided easily.

History 5 paragraph essay 1st quarter

Well, it has been a while since i did this benchmark, so the details of whta it was escapes me. However, I do remember that it was about why the European was capable of enslaving Africans. One of the main things that we looked at, was guns, steel and germs. It was proven that the reason why Europenas were cabable of enslaving Africans was because of geography. More detail is present in the attatchment. This benchmark wasn't done sufficiently because i remembered that i stayed up one night and did it.

History Third Benchmark

In this Benchmark we had to debate whether or not it was right or good to show King Tut's mummy in a museum and continue to dig up artifacts from the ancient tombs. i chose to argue that it is good to display the artifacts, so for this benchamark we had to think up several reasons why it was goodand one reason why it might be bad to argue to the other side.

History- 1st mp benchmark

This is my first marking period benchmark for history class. I learned about the six social institution and also about the tribes in west Africa that lived a long time ago. I the created a chart on the six institution and wrote a letter to an oil company to not drill in the area where west African tribes lives and connect it to the six institution.

3rd Marking Period Benchamrk

This benchmark was a debate on weather we thought that muesuems should have Pharoahs artifacts shown or shouldnt have them. Then for the 3rd paragraph we had to have a counter example for our agreement. 

History 1st quarter benchmarks

The assignment for the 1st quarter for our history project was to make a chart on the 6 social institutions. We had to write a Memo to a large company telling them to not drill for oil in certian places because it will disrupt the living of a certian native tribe. We also had to write a five paragraph essay.

 To get this done I worked on it everynight and got a little bit of help form my teacher.

 

Here are my benchmarks for the 1st marking period.

2nd Marking Period Benchamrk

For this benchmark we had to make up a menu and a seating chart for King Tut's dinner. We worked in groups and we divided the work up for each person and we had to be a farmer, feild worker ect. and wrote about what life in that time was for us.

2nd Quater Benchmark

    We pretended that we were holding a dinner in honor of king Tut. It was my job to compose a seating chart. I had to make the paroah think he was the most important. I made a diagram.  Seatind Chart Explanation

First History Benchmark

In this first history benchmark we had three parts to do. first we had to create a chart about the six institutions of soceity and how another culture and our own were similar and different in their lifestyles. The second part of this benchmark was to write a memo. the situation was a British Petrolium agency wanted to drill in the rainforest where the natives lived. Our job was to write a memo to them as an expert in other soceities and conivince them otherwise. This situation was not a real one, just one that was made up for the sake of the assignment.

    For this class we had to submit a chart, letter, essay, and a power point. These were about the six social institutions. We had to use two examples; I used the examples of the modern USA and the Ba Mbuti.  The chart explained the institutions and the power point shows in example.

History Benchmark 2nd Marking Period

In the 2nd marking period we had to create a dinner for King Tut. This included a menu, invitations, seating arrangments, and who all will be attending. In my group we made it so that everyone was looking towards the Pharoah and he was higher then everyone.

In the first marking period we had to create a chart saying the differences between us and the Bambuti. We had to discribe the 5 social institutions such as economy and domestication. We also had to write a 5 paragrpah essay on it. Finally we had to also have a memo. 

3rd Quarter Benchmark for History

We had to write a letter acting as though we were the President of an anti-slavery group. In this letter we had to tell about the Dred Scott case and the wyas peopel should be handling it. 

3th Quater Benchmark

    We looked at if it was correct to display mummies and the contents of their tombs. We voiced our opinions in a five-paragraph essay. I said that we should be able to dig up the tombs. It was a hard essay for me. I thought...

3rd Quarter History Benchmark

After viewing the King Tut exhibit at the Franklin Instsitute, many opinions were formed on whether it was appropriate for the museum to display those artifacts or not. I was on the proposition for this benchmark and scored 96.
