The True Meaning of the Phillies Win.

Philadelphis's reputation has detoriorated over the past years. It's identity as "the city of brotherly love" has become something of a beacon of irony as the city's murder rate has climbed to one of highest in the country. Most of all, the people who live here are tired. It has gotten so bad, that people starting thinking that they had a curse set upon all of their major sports teams. And with the Sixers losing in 2001, Eagles in 04', and the Phillies in 93', it's been inculcated into people's mind's. So, to have this Phillies win, definitely helps the city gain morally, the people see hope. They have something to cheer about.

Leonardo Fibonacci_Green_Bush_BioChem

1. This project was basically a biography about Leonardo Fibonacci and how he contributed to the world of science.

2. I used a website that gave  me most of the info that I needed in completing the project. I had a little bit of help from my partner. I then presented it in front of my class and explained his story.

3. If I could change somethign about my project I would change who I worked with becuase they did not help me at all. 

Benchmark Paper_BioChem_Bush_Green

1. This talked about my groups experiment with yeast, sugar and water. We tested to see how much CO2 a different amount of yeast and sugar would give off.

2. We used a CO2 sensor to since how much CO2 the experiment gave off.

3. When done over I would try to be more accurate and precise. I would also try to be organized with my information.

1. This project basically tells what every person in this group had to do in this project.

2. We seperated the info into colums and rows telling who had what and telling what was in what.

My first Quarter Algebra Benchmark

What is the assignment: For this assignment, we were put into groups and were given topics to choose. My group picked the Sierpinski Triangle. 

2. How I completed this project: To complete the project my group and I had to create a wikispace on our topic and teach it to our class. We did lots of research and picked what would be best to use.

3, What I would do different if I did this project again: If I were to do this project again I would try to put together a better presentation to teach to the class. I would make it more interactive and hands on. 

CO2 Production

Assignment:

The assignment was to record yeast CO2 production

How I completed  the assignment:

In order to complete the project my group and I had to choose a variable and a constant. Our variable was the amount  of yeast, sugar and artifical sweetners. Our constant was 100ml of water and the degrees of the water and 1 gram of our sugar. Then we measured the CO2 production by adding all the ingredients together in a flask and measured the CO2 production with a CO2 measuring device.

What I would do differently:

I would probably use different variables and constants 

History Q3 Benchmark Anthony Harley

In this benchmark I made a jeoprady game on the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendment as well as the reconstruction period. I made it on an animation program called scratch. The game is entertaining and it has sonic and mario. I would've added President Johnson if I had more time. I fell he was a somewhat important person. I can't upload the project but IN my next blog I will.

This purpose of this project was to learn about scientists from the past. This was a project that I had to do with a partner so I completed this project because we both had our own job that we had to do and we could get the project done faster that way. Something that I would do differently about this project would be to use more pictures on the slides.

This is a wikispace that me and my group did on Vitamin Water. We broke down all the ingredients and chemicals in it and researched them. If I were to do the project over I would choose a more interesting food to research.

Before and After Cell Pictures

Assignment:

The assignment was to compare onion cell pictures before and after adding salt to it.

How I completed this assignment:

To complete this assignment I hooked up my computer to a microscope with the onion layer on the microscope. Then I took a few pictures of the onion cell. Then I added the salt and took pictures of the result.

What I would do differently next time:

I don't I would do anything the next time because the project went really smooth. 

Algebra Q3 Benchmark Anthony Harley

Well for this math benchmark I went all out. I had to make a graph with an increasing linear rate and a decreasing linear rate. I really tried hard on this project but everything couldn't fit on the graph. If you ever download this press show all hidden and there are answers listed from 1-8 that were on a sheet of questions. I brought my A game and hoping to do it again.

Q1_Bio-Chem Benchmark

This is a group Lab Report that I did in Bio-Chem. My group measured the CO2 level in water, sugar, yeast, and gaterade at different amounts. If I were to do this project again I would use my time wisely.

This is a link to my last Bio-Chemistry project. It was basically to tell what kind of chemicals are in mountain dew. Feel free to browse other pages besides mountain dew. If I had more time I would tried to put more info on the page. I feel as if I only skimmed some things and I wish I had a little more time because 4 benchmarks due on the same day is dificult to get done. I wish that I had more time but I guess it will have to suffice for this quarter. I have an A overall so at least I was able to keep that. Howeverim upset that I didn't show my A work.

Geometry Benchmary Quarter 1

For the first quarter benchmark, my group and I researched Islamic Tile Designs.  We talked about the history of it and what kinds of geometric shapes are involved in making them.  If I were to do this again, I would make sure of information was perfectly correct.

Quarter 3 Benchmark

For the third quarter benchmark, my group and I had to create a Wikispace that involved all of the broken down chemicals in Ramen Noodles. We had to answer a set of specific questions and while doing this, we found some interesting things. If I were to do this again, I would investigate the Ramen Noodle seasoning packet. Quarter 3 Spanish Benchmark

For my quarter 3 Spanish Benchmark, I had to create a brochure conatining directions from my home to 6-8 places in Philadelphia.  We also had to describe one or two things about each particular place.  If I was to do this again, I would chose new locations and make sure that all of the directions are correct.

Bio-Chem Q3 Benchmark McNeill

This benchmark was about the chemical make-up of the everyday foods that people eat. I had some struggle starting the assignment but once I got started it was very easy. If I could do it differently I wouldn't have used wikispaces because it randomly shut down in the middle of my work. I also would have started earlier so that I might have had more time to revise.

Quarter 2 History Benchmark

This is my quarter 2 History Benchmark.  For this project, I created a Keynote on a former slave, William Wells Brown, and his life.  This includes his experiences with slavery and The Underground Railroad.  If I were to do this again, I would include some more information.

Q2 Geometry Benchmark

This is my Q2 Geometry Benchmark. For this assignment, I had to solve a crossword puzzle and a color square puzzle by using 3 or 4 clues. While solving the puzzles, we had to justify each step in the process. If I was to do this agin, I would make sure every step was more clearer.

Quarter 3 English Benchmark

This is my quarter 3 English Benchmark. For this assignment, I wrote a 4-5 page historical context essay on how histor effected poetry during the Russian Revolution.  If I were to do this again, I would chose a different peom to write about.

Quarter 2 English Benchmark

This is my Quarter 2 English Benchmark.  I had to write a memoir on a certain aspect of culture in my life that effects me. I chose music.  If I was to do this again, I would chose a different aspect.

Q1 Benchmark: Density Lab Report

This assignment was to create a well-designed controlled experiment based on yeast respiration. For this assignment there were three people working as group to do it. The items tested during the experiment were yeast, sugar, and water. We were trying to find out what kind of changes would occur to these substances when there were combine to CO2.

In the process of completing this assignment we used an application called Logger Pro to create a chart to record what happened to the CO2 in 900 seconds depeding on which substance was being used. Then all the data was put in an excel sheet.

Q1 Benchmark

This assignment was a lab report where we test the CO2 levels genertate when Kool-Aid is added to yeast.

We used the lab equipment in our Bio-Chemistry class to test the levels and mix the ingredients.

I would spend a longer time testing the experiment and make sure I have sufficiant evidence for each test so that the experiment is close to flawless.
