ILP Learning Goals
Submitted by Kristina Chiev on Fri, 04/25/2008 - 19:29.
What do you want learn?
I want to learn to use technology better like building them and taking them apart and putting them back together, or how to help people more. I like to be around technology, but I also like to help people like with medicine and such. I want to learn how to work in a hospital or at least a pharmacy. I would love to help people or be helpful to others in any way. I also like to help people out with anything i can possible can, but i love helping other people and telling them about things. I also am interest in robotics so maybe i can do something with that since i find it so fascinating.
What skills do you want to build?
People skills because im really shy when I meet new people, but when I get to know them im very open.
What careers would you like to know about?
Doctors, but im scared of seeing a lot of blood because it makes me feel sad each time i see it and makes me feel lonely so i hate the sight of too much blood at one time when it free on the ground.

To learn how to do a podcast, we had a practice round. We each interviewed another person, I interviewed Ian and he interviewd me in return. We basically just asked general questions. We learned how to use CC (Creative Commons) and could use 10 seconds of a song in our podcast without breaking cop right laws.

Submitted by Bria Wimberly on Fri, 12/21/2007 - 15:25.
We talked about what would happen if yeast was combined with vinegar and other products. Will the carbon dioxide rise or fall?
Q1_BenchMark_Biochemistry
Submitted by Bianca Nigro on Fri, 12/21/2007 - 15:11.
My lab report is on yeast respreation. I conducted a lab to see how much CO2 would produce from water, yeast, and sugar and yeast, water and vinager, and sugar. I tested different variables and compared and contrasted them both. If I were to do this lab again I would want to try using different liquids or something other then sugar.
Q1 algebra benchmark
Submitted by Marshall Johnston on Fri, 12/21/2007 - 15:09.
Our class was split up into groups of three and we all had a different math formula/equasion to find information about. I was assigned to do power sequences. I got a B on the project. If I were to do it again, I would have managed my time better.

Quarter 1 Benchmark; Best
Submitted by Kimberly Yarnall on Fri, 12/21/2007 - 14:50.
For this quarter one benchmark we had to pick work with a partner and pick a scienctist and we were given a time frame to work with. I had modern time and my partner and I picked Marie Curie as our scientist. We both did a lot of research and made a powerpoint and poster about her, her life, what influenced her, etc. I helped doing this project by completing a lot of research and doing the powerpoint while my partner made the poster. If I could do this project over I would of found better sites to get my information because sometimes the sites would say one thing, then the other site would say another thing.
Ian Terway Biochemestry Benchmrk
Submitted by Ian Terway on Thu, 12/20/2007 - 23:08.
The Bio Chem benchmark was a group project about yeast respiration. My group was Emma Connell, Catherine Young, and I. We researched about what change in carbon dioxide will happen if we add flat Pepsi and baking soda to the yeast and water.
Bio Chem Q1 Benchmark
Submitted by Oscar Holton on Tue, 12/18/2007 - 23:25.
1) In this benchmark, we had to look up information about a scientist in a certain time era in a group of two. The information had to iclude the date of birth, what they did, what they did to change the world, etc.
2 ) The part I did in this benchmark was I looked up information on a Muslim scientist nam Nasir Al-Din Tusi.
3) One thing I would have done differently is that next time I would do a powerpoint because it would grabe the adiuence adttention better than reading it to the class with a piece of paper.
Mansa Musa & Mali
Submitted by Emma Connell on Tue, 12/18/2007 - 20:51.
For history our assigned benchmark was to make a keynote on Mali and Mansa Musa.
I researched the history, geography, religion, and salt and gold trade. For Mansa Musa i talked about his Hajj to Mecca and the effect of it.
If i could change one thing it would be MY time management. I had alot of time in class to work on it but i didn't use it wisely. I still finshed my project on time i just had to cram a lot of my research and that made me stress out.
Q1 benchmark
Submitted by James Seward on Tue, 12/18/2007 - 18:39.
1) We were studing Acient Egypt. We were especially studing Three Pharoh's in perticular. Our benchmark was a multiple part, multi-step benchmark. My group was Andre Serrano, Emma Conel and Marshall Jhonston. We split our parts up evenly, except i took one extra part. The project had 5 parts to it: The invitation, The menu, the seating plan, the description of the ritual the pharoh will preform and the press release.
2) My Part in this project was to create the invitations to King Tut and to learn the ritual that the Pharoh would have to preform before, during, and after the ceromony. During this project we had to do many other jobs that were supposed to help un in the log run.
3) If i could do this project again I would drfinitly change how i spent my time during this project. I could have pent even more time on this project if i had managed my time better. Also I would have urged my partners do keep up with the work more often.
Mr. Best Quarter 1 Benchmark
Submitted by Robert Glynn on Tue, 12/18/2007 - 18:37.
For Mr. Best in Bio-chem, we had to make a powerpoint presentation about the history of a given scientist.
History Q1 Benchmark
Submitted by Oscar Holton on Tue, 12/18/2007 - 18:37.
1) In the assignment, we had to plan and organize a dinner for king Tut. We had to do the invitation, the menu, the seating plan, the description of the ritual of the Pharoah will perform, and the press release.
2) I completed the part where you had to do a press release. Doing the press release I had to organize an announcement to tell the people of Egypt that the Pharoah was coming to their town for dinner.
3) If I was to do this project again, I would make the font better and have more about the Pharoah.
Benchmark Quarter 1 Bio-chem
Submitted by Kristina Chiev on Tue, 12/18/2007 - 18:33.
We picked a person from history and wrote about how he helped backed then and how their invention changed the way we lived now. We also had to write how their invention was improved over time and who brougth their invention from a simple machine to a high tech machine.
Quarter 1 benchmark for Bio-Chem
Submitted by John DeSalis on Tue, 12/18/2007 - 18:29.
In this project we had to mesure how much CO2 was produced by adding a certain amount of yest, water, regular Red Bull, and Sugar-free Red Bull to water nd measure how much was produced over the course of 15 minutes.
If I had to redo this project I would try and make the Red Bulls less carbonated by opening them earlier in the day and putting them into the refridgerator, because the colder the can gets the more carbon comes out of the can.
English Q1 benchmark
Submitted by Marshall Johnston on Tue, 12/18/2007 - 18:28.
This quarter our class was focusing on making a good thesis statment and an interesting paper. We were assigned to make up a thesis statment about the book we were reading, The Odyssey. My theses was, People praise the god's not because of their personality traits or their physical characteristics, but because they fear they almost limitless power. I got a 90/100 on the assignment. If I were to do this project again, I would have managed my time better.
Co2 production Benchmark
Submitted by Andre Serrano on Tue, 12/18/2007 - 18:22.
Our teacher had us test for Co2 and us record the results that yeast and snother factor had on it
i tested how much Co2 would be produced with coke and yeast.
i would have al the groups search for the same thing because my group had our project planned out but we could finish the first project we had planned because it wouldnt work with a Co2 censor.
Q1 benchmark
Submitted by Marshall Johnston on Tue, 12/18/2007 - 18:15.
We studied three main pharo's of ancient Egypt and we were assigned to do a project on king Tut. We were to arrange a dinner goo enough to satisfy him. We worked in groups of four. I was assigned to create a realistic menu. I looked up what foods they had back in those times and put the rarest of them on the menu in order to impres him. If I were to do the project again, I would have been better on the deadlines. We got in the final project on time but we were a little behind on the small stuff.
