SLA and National History Day

The National Constitution Center hosted the Philadelphia National History Day competition for High School students from all over the city.  Congratulations to Jasmine Thomas, Bre Bonner, Hannah Feldman, Levon Avagyan, Mike Miller and Tyrell Thompson for their work in the Group Documentary competition.  A round of applause for Lucas Duffy-Tumasz, Moriah Taylor, Rachel Burwasser, Vienna Tartaglia and Danielle Villa for the lovely website they produced.  Finally, well done to Shawn Perry who chose to go it alone and compete in the Individual Documentary division.

At the end of the day, all the of the competitors gathered to receive the news about which projects would be selected to move onto state competition.  After listening to the award winners in many of the categories, there was a sense that our small delegation of 12 would leave with a job well done, but without placing in the competition.  We were thrilled to hear the names of Tyrell Thompson and Mike Miller called as the third place winners for the Group Documentary on Jimi Hendrix.
