Presidential Election Day- Joshua Hendarto

We were given a task by our history teachers. Each of us had to interview voters voting outside of polls and take a picture to show that we were there.

Goals of the Project:
  1. Document the conditions under which voters are casting ballots in PA and TX
  2. Collect stories from polling places in Texas and Pennsylvania
  3. Publish stories to the web
  4. Draw comparisons between states in terms of voter experiences and types of voting opportunities
Here are the interview questions:

• What do you think about our voting system? • When was the last time you voted? • Do you find voting difficult? What barriers make it difficult to cast a ballot? • Do you think your vote matters? Please explain. • Will you vote again in the future? • Do you think everyone is going to get a chance to vote today? • Have you voted in previous elections? If yes, were the conditions similar in terms of wait time and ease of access to the polls? • What made you decide to vote in this election? • Did you have to take of work to come vote? • Do you have young children? If so, did you have to hire a babysitter ? • What or who inspired you to vote today? • If the person is in line… How long did you have to wait to vote? • How early did you have to get up/ what time you get to the polls?
