Health care
Submitted by jlisterud on Tue, 11/24/2009 - 16:42.
Until today, I felt like Obama's health care reform might fail. It seems that the Senate is acting ill of the health care, and there were people wo were demonizing it. One clod in congress said that the success of the health care reform is a worse thing that can happen to America than a terrorist threat. I think she's a terrorist. In fact, opposing Obama's health care reform is an act of terrorism. When I learned that there was a boost in Democratic support, I felt relieved. If Mrs. Martin hadn't shown me the movie "Sicko" last year, I wouldn't have been so concerned about Obama's health care reform. But now that the film exposed me to the dark secrets within American Health Care, I desperately want Obama's health care reform to succeed.
Seventh Bill log.

Bill H.R.104 still hasn't had a recent action since it was reffered to the Subcommittee of Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties back in June. I have made an attempt to vote in favor of this bill, but I needed an account on the website in order to do so. I attempted to fill out an application for it, but there were errors, and I gave up.
Progress on bill H.R.29 didn't fare much better. Just like in a majority of my previous bill logs, nothing happened to it since March 9th, when it was introduced to the Subcommittee on Healthy Families and Communities, as well as the Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education. When the bill pushes forward, then I would have something new to say about it.
As for bill no. 080832, it has been way to hard to track its previous action, so I decided to change my Bill no.3. I changed it to H.R.3962, Obama's "Affordable Health Care For America Act." Eight days ago, on November 16th, it was read in the Senate again. It was put on the Senate Legislative Calendar No. 210.
Election Day

I have had trouble uploading the picture, and I'm hoping that in class, you might be able to help me out with this.
This election scene had only a few people at the ballots this year, while last year, there were long lines of people waiting to vote. A major reason for this was not only because last year was a presidential election, but it was also because Barack Obama was a candidate for president. This had spawned a lot of controversy between Democrats and Republicans, and each party was desperate to make sure that they get the President they desired. This year, this was an election between congressmen, making this far less exciting, and nowhere near historical.
Sixth Bill log
Submitted by jlisterud on Sat, 10/24/2009 - 14:44.
Sadly, once again, no new progress on each bill. Nothing new has happened to Bill H.R.104 since its June referring to the he Subcommittee of Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties (thanks, Copy and Paste) so it may be possible that it may have gotten lost within the House of Representatives and/or the Senate. This may be adding to the tension towards those who are actually worried about the bill either passing or failing, but towards me, it is getting repetitive and starting to function like a broken record.
On March 9th, bill H.R.29 was introduced to the Subcommittee on Healthy Families and Communities, as well as the Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education. But sadly, nothing special happened to it ever since. This may receive the same comments on Bill H.R.104. Getting lost in either the Senate or the House of Representatives, tension building among those who care, and growing repetition.
Bill no. 080832 is hard to track down, as it was presented as a pdf file, and that doesn't tell us the current status of a bill. But all I can predict is that nothing special has happened with it since the Committe on the Environment. But, I can't remember the date in which that happened. But since the other two bills have made practically no progress, I don't think that this one did either.

Fifth Bill log
Submitted by jlisterud on Sat, 10/17/2009 - 15:03.
The status of each bill is the same as before. Bill H.R.104 still hasn't advanced from being reffered to the Subcommittee of Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties. I personally hope that the bill does get passed, because I personally want Bush's actions under strict investigation. I can't forgive him for what he did, and how he abused his abilities as the President. He will deserve this disgrace to him. With Dick Cheney also breaking out in a cold seat over this one, I really want the deal to be sealed. But if nothing new happens with this bill for too long, I might not care if the bill passes or fails. All I would want would be for something new to happen to it.
As for bill H.R.29, well, that's also on the same sticky end. After its introduction to all those committees, it went into limbo and all future events with it has been delayed over and over and over again. As a supporter of extra support towards the poor and homeless, I really demand more progress on this bill. This is killing me. I mean, what should I do to check more progress on this bill? Go and find a more in-depth list of events with this bill? Seriously.
And let's not forget bill no. 080832. Well, checking the status of this bill was far to cumbersome, and I ultimately had no choice but to announce it absolutely unchanged.
Fourth bill log
Submitted by jlisterud on Tue, 10/13/2009 - 12:25.
I'm afraid that the status of my bills is the same as it was the last time I checked. There's not much else to say. The sooner something new happens to at least one of my selected bills, the better. I perfectly established that I haven't exactly been happy about the slow progress on the bills, and how the slow progress would hurt my elaboration in my explanations within my bill logs. What this sadly means is that my performances have been tounced.
Third bill log
Submitted by jlisterud on Sun, 10/04/2009 - 15:17.
So far, unfortunately, nothing new has happened with the bills since I last checked on them. Bill H.R.104 was introduced to the Committee on June 26th, Bill H.R.29 was introduced to the Subcommittees on Healthy Families, Communities, Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education, and bill no. 080832 was reffered to by the Committee on the Environment. But sadly, all three bills have been stuck in limbo ever since then. They are still stuck at their positions from last time, and they seem to be progressing through our government at a snail's pace. Practically, all bills do that. I know Rome wasn't built in a day, but if nothing new happens with our bills by the time we have to check on them again, this may be repetitive.
Back on September 21st
Submitted by jlisterud on Wed, 09/30/2009 - 21:58.
I think that back on monday on September first, all three bills were only introduced. That's just one possibility. But there's also the theory that the status for each bill back then was the same as the status for each bill now.
The status of my bills.
Submitted by jlisterud on Sat, 09/26/2009 - 12:32.
My first bill, H. R. 104, has been introduced to the Committe, who has now reffered to it, all happening on June 26th. This will anticipate those who really want President Bush's philosophies and tactics put under investigation. Personally, I support that bill, because President Bush abused the power that he had when he was president of the United States. I know he was desperate to stop Al Quaeda, but he needed to do so in the right way, instead of doing what he did.
The second bill, H. R. 29, has been introduced on March 9th, and it was made to improve the lives of the poor and homeless. I feel sorry for the poor and homeless, so I support this bill too. I am tired of their suffering. I want their lives to be improved. I don't like how people are so mean to them and wouldn't help them. This bill has to be passed.
bill no. 080832 was reffered to by the Committe on the Environment, and was to help the environment. I also want this bill to be passed.

My current progres on the report is somwhat favorable. I have gained monolouges for all four acts I was assigned with: Act 1 Scenes 1, 2, and 3, and Act 2 Scene 1. Today, I gave them to the group leader, Michael Doyle. I am currently waiting for the script to be fully complete.
Unfortunately, I am waiting for my groupmates to finish their line-hunts in their progress. My the girls in my group haven't finished their parts, so this could be a problem. I am at least somewhat impatient, but they have difficulties, so I might as well cut them some slack.
I understand how revenge took place in the play. Iago wanted it and he got it by tricking Othello into wanting revenge on Desdemona. He created a villanous trap of vengance and dispair for Othello leading him to his doom. But it brought him to his own as well.

My current team log:
We got along pretty well. We helped to negotiate how our project was able to go. I gathered monolouges for my acts, and delivered them to the group. They liked them. I did a good job in understanding how revenge related they were, and I comprehended Iago's vengeful ambitions. One groupmate had trouble with her acts, and so I reccomended her to skip acts she doesn't find a single line about revenge in.
ILP
Submitted by jlisterud on Tue, 04/08/2008 - 20:49.
My experiences in the ILP have felt random a few times before. First I had to make my own RPG Maker game, and now I am trying to work on Dr. Java at a special college. So, it's not always clear to me. The old ILP jobs weren't very fun, and the new ones are, but they are hard and confusing. But I still think this is better than the old ILP.

I was disapointed that before spring break we didn't finish presenting our projects. I was also disapointed today when today came and we never finished our presenting and reviewing. Hopefully we will Wednsday. I really liked the presentations the people in my group made. I was quite fond of them.
My previous year
Submitted by jlisterud on Thu, 03/06/2008 - 23:23.
I remember my first year at SLA. I remember seeing a lot of videos during my free time at that moment. If you have watched CardCaptors when you were in elementary school, you may have remembered later finding out that there have been a majority of episodes that weren't aired. They did air in Canada, and I watched some of those episodes on Google Video. I liked them a lot. I also have been watching Gametrailers.com reviews for a lot of video games. They were also enjoyable. And I also played a game called "n" where you're a stick figure ninja, and I found a system letting you play N64 games on the computer. So, it was a great time.
Our current goals
Submitted by jlisterud on Thu, 03/06/2008 - 23:15.
My dad set up some specific objectives ever since we came up with this idea. We have to find why the NRA thinks gun control is a bad idea, when and why there was a Right To Bear Arms, how Canada's gun laws are different from ours, and how gun control is supported. We got a head start by collecting websites discussing them all. This weekend, we will research them. And the info will come in handy in making this a solid report.
I am intending on making it a video and showing graphs in it just like the guy in that video. I wanted to express graphs and show how well out I want to express how a decision can be make, what the result could be, and when else a Right to Bear Arms might be a good idea.
New Change Agents
Submitted by jlisterud on Thu, 03/06/2008 - 23:08.
I have recently talked about change agents with my dad and I came up with huge mistakes before the talk began. So, we decided to change our change agents to people who truely know our topic. So, we decided to change our change agents to people like the NRA, or the Handgun Control inc. so that we could truely gain information that is really necessary for the project. And with these three new ones, we believe that the report would be great if we understood both sides of the debate. And then we could come up with one true goal to maintaining peace.
Second Thoughts
Submitted by jlisterud on Mon, 02/25/2008 - 13:47.
Recently, from what I have heard of last week, I have recieved second thoughts about the right to bear arms. I discovered a situation where the right to bear arms might be a good idea and why. If they could use guns, they would protect themselves from the violent torture.
Video recap
Submitted by jlisterud on Wed, 02/20/2008 - 13:52.
After watching the video, I found another positive aspect of being able to own guns. In Aftrica, at the time, a lot of violence took place. Especially the women getting raped. If the women had access to weaponry, they would defend themselves more easily. They would threaten to kill their attackers, or if that doesn't work, go ahead and do it. Then, they would leave them alone. But since they had no weapons, they were completely defenceless.
New discovery
Submitted by jlisterud on Fri, 02/15/2008 - 20:45.
Dad and I had a talk last night about the right to bear arms. As it turns out, he gave me a reason for it to be a good idea. In California, there was a Watts Riots killing people and wrecking buildings, and the purpose was to gain rights for the people in the city for all races and nationalities. When it ended, the Black Panther Party, an aggressive civil rights movement gang, planned to rise against that. They planned violent acts against the injustice, and they would have been wiped out too quickly if they had close-range weapons only. They needed guns too. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have been as safe.
CURRENT FACTS
Submitted by jlisterud on Thu, 02/14/2008 - 16:41.
I may have found reasons for my ambition being too harsh. In Canada, you need to register you guns in order to be able to go hunting. They have tighter gun control than here in America, but America doesn't learn from Canada. Instead, the villanous NRA, or National Region Annialation demands that there should be a right for people to own firearms. That right was made for the Revolutionary War, which started in 1776. Well, that war ended 2 1/4 centuries ago. So, now, the Right to Bear Arms exists for the worst. Everyone complains, "We don't need it now," and "It's evil!" but nooooo. The NRA says, "People will still have the right to keep and bear arms." I can imagine them laughing evilly and saying, "Now, all those high school murders can increase and neighborhood terrorism can spread! Our plan is WORKING! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" NRA, you are a bunch of psycopaths. I want the wrong to bear arms wiped out on the face of the country RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!

Not-so-right to bear arms.
Submitted by jlisterud on Wed, 02/06/2008 - 23:05.
I have been against the right to bear arms since the day I have heard of it. I blame it for some of the kids at some high schools getting shot by other students. I mean, they just shoot people merely because they think they deserve it. They don't. And even if they did, it's just so unforgivable. The police seldom help and that makes the whole thing even worse! With the right to bear arms gone, police would have a sharper eye out for black markets, catch their owners, and shut the markets down completely. Access to guns would dwindle and safety would improve.
