There has been no recent activity with any of my Bills.
The current situation for the health care bill in the Senate. What is happening? What happened over the weekend? What is the path forward for potential passage?
Over the weekend the Democrats pushed for the floor for a full debate. The path forward for potential passage is through a full debate between the democratic senators and the republican senators all of which oppose this bill.

What role should the executive branch (president, governor, mayor) have in the passage of these bills?
The role that the executive branch should play in each bill is passing it once it gets to that point. The congress Bill should eventually get to the presidents desk (if it doesn't die first) and he can pass or veto it. This is the same with the governor and mayor.
Election Day 2009: November 3rd

I noticed that, first of all, there were no lines. I went inside and talked to the people running the voting and they said that they had more people last year. While I was there talking to them one person came in to vote and looked to be about 60 or 70. This year however I noticed a lot more signs up with instructions on how to vote and the voting process. There were also signs in spanish.
I think that there were more people voting last year because it was a presidential election and also because more younger people were voting. This time it seems that people don't seem to care as much especially younger people.

My vision of school
Submitted by obillbrough on Fri, 10/09/2009 - 15:49.
The school I would like to create is a school that puts more of a focus on the student’s future then just on the present. The system would be to have the teachers and students keep a log of what they are good at and what they like to do from the beginning. They need to save everything and once a week meet with a counselor to talk about what they like to do and what theymight like to do. This school would also have a wide variety of classes andcourses. There would be the regular classes like English and math but afterfreshman year you would get to choose what type of that class you would like. That way you can get to know what you like earlier. If you are a student who is better in the arts then youwould belong in the arts department of the school. Your math might be algebraand geometry but with more of a focus on buildings as the examples and focalpoint. You might also be moreinterested in Theatre or film. Then you might have a Shakespeare class or book to film class as your English class to understand not only the text, but also the transfer to film. This way you won’t have a class that you feel you haven’t a need for.
This is good for the individual because it not only helps them to discover what they might like to do in their future but they also get to experience new things and have the opportunity todo so. In this schools system they will have a record of everything they have done from the beginning and someone to help them figure out what is best for them if they have a hard time a makingdecisions. They will also have exposure to many different things so that they will be able to make that decision.
This particular school would also be very good for society becauseit would help kids become completely aware of what they want to peruse (or at least closer then they might be otherwise) in college and what not. This is also good because it keeps kids interested in their education and would meanless dropouts and less teen illegalities.
My vision of school prioritizes helping students find what they like and what they are good at and turning that into a life. It values thestudents opinion and their feelings and lets them take charge of their studentcareer as well as giving them good advice and guidance in the right direction. It focuses on the arts, maths, English, engineering and anything else that might be important to students. It does follow some of the requirements ofother schools in terms of what is needed but it bends it to fits its students needs.
The differences that I would see in the structure of my school and a “traditional” school would probably be how students spend their day or do homework. They may not always be in the building depending on what they do and their class times may vary. But I think in other aspects as of discipline and things like announcements and suchw ould be the same. There should always be some structure whether it is a specialty school or traditionally school because it helps students stay focused.

There has been no recent action with my US Congress Bill.
There has been no recent action with my State Bill.
There has been no recent action with my City Bill.
The similarities are few between my three Bills but my state Bill and my US Congress Bill have some things in common. The US Congress Bill deals with illegal immigrants and education and the State Bill deals with the language of our state. Because of all of the different languages that come into our state it might be hard to pass this Bill and the illegal immigrant population probably has some effect on the languages that are spoken. Whereas my US Congress Bill and State Bills have to do with certain people my City Bill has more to do with everyone and their health and safety.

My U.S congress house Bill is House Bill number H.R. 1751 and is called the American Dream Act. This bill is to make it legal for students who came to the united states as children by illegal immigrant parents and have been going to schools here all their lives to be able to go on to higher education. So far this bill has not moved sense it was introduced in march 26 2009. It's last action was May 13th and it was Referred to the Subcommittee on Higher Education, Lifelong Learning, and Competitiveness.

Billbrough, Paul A. Personal Interview. Dec. 2008.
This interview was conducted with anaverage homeowner who pays energy bills on his house. It was important to havea regular resident talk about their experiences with energy and energy billsand how they feel about the costs. This particular person was not low incomebut that just proves more the fact that energy problems are starting to hitmore people and that it is becoming a bigger problem that needs to be addressed.
