My Vision of School

Creating an environment that gives students a place to live, learn and create. The vision for Shannel Antoinette Academy is to develop a students education exposing students to a learning experiences that involves hands on logical and creative thinking, also presenting the students to real-life situations that would require them to make decisions thinking of the long term results. Including ways that will make learning easier and enjoyable for students.
Individual each student will interpret a lesson or real-life experience different. During their time in this institution the
student will gain logical skills of thinking long term, how their decisions effect others around them and which ever choice they make is it for pleasure or for their own good. One way to prepare students for what life after school is like it put them into the situation. You access how they incorporate what they learned in mathematics to be able to tell which cable deal may be worth paying for and is the cheapest.
Their learning will include different scenarios that are most common throughout America. After their months learning the
project would be for them to handle each situation the best they can. One student might have just hit the lottery, have to choice between accepting the money all at once or overtime. Then how will they invest that money, and so that each student can't take the easy way out there will be a list of choices that they are given. Another student might be a single parent with two kids who is on a tight budget. The children might be smart enough to get scholarships to a great school: that’s for high school (private) or a college. Its a life learning lesson that they experience just like any American might be going
through at that moment. The lesson is also an expansion from the well-known baby lesson you go through in health class. This life lesson is their 'fake crying baby' and the student will have to take care of it and make the right decisions needed to survive and keep the 'fake baby' happy.
The school values its way of twisting the learning system. In this school will still have students attend classes of the
norm such as algebra, English, and history But with our Life-Learning we will have that algebra class not consist of Xs but of income dollars, English will be more 'dramatic' in ways, why read and write when you can act and analyze? Being able to understand what has caused the future to be what it is would have students learning the past. When students look at why Obama, Mike Myers, and the Democrat Party is pressing the current Health Care Issue. Where the health care system has taken a turn for the worse and if it isn't changed how will it affect our futures? This institution values the students’ core interpretation of what they are learning, how they will take that with them along the way, and if they still have a basis of the 'traditional' education of what is needed to survive in and after college.
Compared to "traditional" school the structure of Shannel Antoinette Academy will be a life related as possible. Our main Life-Learning Program will prepare students at early ages how demanding and stressful their lives can get after school. Its will prepare students mentally for their future's which is their decision to make. This school will prepare them in the living aspect for college and years in to adulthood. Hopefully it will go beyond that and the lessons would just teach them to
appreciate the learning that they have access to. Help the students to strive for the betterment of them, encourage them to find their passionate calling that makes them happy and keeps them motivated through all their hardships. In 'traditional' schools they emphasize on how society looks at their scores and numbers. In this academy we teach them how they as an individual can be more then what society wants them to be, when they believe they are more than a test score, more then a number society has no CHOCIE but to accept them and work to fit them not the other way around. Proving that society is always changing and there's always time for them to shine and strive to make it happen.

A student who graduates from
A student who graduates from your school, it seems to me, would be very prepared for life after school. If they not only learned to think long term and about the effects their decisions have on others, but also had already made a practice of using those skills in a real-world situation, they would be ready to tackle any problem that could present itself to them. I agree with you that these skills are much more practical and useful then skills learned sitting in traditional subject classes. Students who finish school with confidence in their abilities, more than just their test scores, will be much better adjusted for society.
Thanks,
Callie
Well first I like what you
Well first I like what you did with the topic. Also i like how you didn't just write down what the basics of it was, you gave it a name and went in to grave detail. You talked about it as if you were pitching it to a board of educators so that they may fund your school. Another thing that crossed my mind as I was reading and maybe you answered this already within the paper and I may have missed it. But what would happen to those who don't "get it" right away, how would your school help them to get to where they need to be?
I really like that this
I really like that this school supports the learning of the student. "The school values its way of twisting the
learning system." I feel that that statement really envisions a school for the student to learn and create in their own way. I really agree with this statement particularly, and overall your vision of school. A lot of what I said about my vision of school matches yours.
