Phillies finally did it!
Submitted by Taniera Reid on Thu, 10/30/2008 - 19:49.
The Phillies mean a lot to me. Winning the World Series means alot to not onl me, but my entire city! I come from a family of sports fans. My grandfather was the biggest Phillies fan I knew, I onl wish he was here to experience this amazing time for Philadelphia Baseball fans. This changes the views of people non-Phillies fans all over the world.I am very proud to be apart of the celebration. We did it!
ILP Blog #1
Submitted by Taniera Reid on Mon, 09/22/2008 - 19:41.
It was my original hope to have an ILP at the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia. Unfortunately, I was not picked to be an intern there. My desired internship is at a law-firm, or a place of fashion. I have high hopes. Wishing I am placed at one of my desired locations, I wait patiently. About 3 weeks have passed and I've not yet been assigned. When I finally do start my internship, I PRAY it's not boring! I wish to look forward to Wednesdays every week. I do feel a little disappointed though. My friends have an ILP and I don't! I feel like a little REJECT. Though I don't have a place to intern, I do enjoy when Jeremy says, "You can go home..." every Wednesday after my classes are through.
Hamlet English blog
Submitted by Taniera Reid on Thu, 05/15/2008 - 12:45.
Hamlet is full of controversy and rage. Shakespeare portrayed characters in the book as some evil, some kind, some insane and some sneaky. In my opinion, Polonius was sneaky and evil, Queen Gertrude was sneaky, and Hamlet was insane! I enjoy reading shakespeare tragedies because it gives me a certain condolence. My leisure time is spent writing; stories, poems, or my thoughts. English class has bettered my writing and furthered my knowledge with a better understanding of grammer, puncuation, and the meaning behind my words. I look forward to reading more shakespeare. I find it interesting understanding old language. It's a struggle trying to translate Shakespeare's words into modern language, but it helps you understand the meaning behind the story better. As a writer, I wish to write poems or stories and be remembered for my work as Shakespeare has. It's every writiers dream to be gone but remembered for what they did best, and thats writing!

For this benchamrk, we were broken up into groups of two. My partner and I did a egg lab experimenting with 3 different liquids. We used dishwashing liquid, ethonoic acid, and coca-cola. First, we placed 1 egg in a beaker. We then poured our first liquid until it covered the egg completely. We noted our observations an recorded our results. We repeated this step 3 times then wrote our Q3 Benchmark draft. We submitted our draft for to be corrected. After it was corrected we made the changes and submitted our final draft.

Yeast Respiration Lab
Submitted by Taniera Reid on Mon, 12/17/2007 - 15:16.
Our Q1 Benchmark for Biochem included yeast respiration lab. We had to do a lab with yeast lab and then write a research paper. After that, we had to do the same lab using different variables. For example, the first time we used yeast and salt, when doing the lab over we had to chang on of the variables and write another research paper showing differences between the two labs.
