Abortion: Planned Parenthood

What IS Planned Parenthood?

Planned Parenthood is a health care provider, educaton and advocate.

What does Planned Parenthood DO?

Planned Parenthood provideshealth car, sex education and worldwide

information.

Planned Parenthood practices in-clinic abortion procedures.  These

procedures are said to be "safe and effective" to women terminating

pregnancies.

Are any abortions really "safe and effective?"

Physicians For Life states, "Since the Supreme Court's 1793 Roe and Doe

decisions, at least hundreds of women have died from what pro-abortion group

insist on calling "safe and legal" abortions." According to Moments In Time,

abortions kill atleast 70,000 women a year.

What does an illegal abortion look like?

Depression and Abortion, is there a link?

The Choices We Make...

"Jill Nolan"

This article tells a story of Jill Nolan, a 19 year old

female faced with the tragic decision on whether to

abort her baby or not. Her soon to be ex-husband wanted

nothing to do with her, or a commitment.

Jill later got an abortion and with that, followed

depression. Jill didnt enjoy sex for a

long time after that. After being empregnated

by the love of her life she found later in life, she

realized her decision to have her baby was pro-choice.

Nobody's opinion with the acception of Christ, matters.

After Abortion, Depression Occurs..

Depression:

Depression.com tells us "depression is not just something you can

'snap out of'. Its caused by an embalance in brain chemicals along

with other factors." Depression should be treated just as any other

medical condition.

What are the different types of depression?

National Institute of Mental Health tells us depression is very complex. A few forms of depression

are listed below:

  • Major Depressive Disorder
  • Dysthemic Disorder
  • Psychotic Depression
  • Postpartum Depression
  • Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

 Depression and Abortion; is there a link?

          at a higher risk of clinical depression.

         have long argued that women often suffer depression and other mental health

         problems as a result of having abortions." (Boyles)

  • Ramah International tells us of the Post Abortion Stress Syndrom. This syndrom is another form of post-traumatic stress disorder. Experiencing grief, making life changing decisions, suffering pain and regret can take a tole on one's mental health.

Life. Pro-life.

Is Abortion MURDER?

Abortions are unethical. Its murder. Women plead to have rights to their own body,

and they should; but when you murder something thats living its no longer just "your business."

If a woman wanted to kill her child, should the government just leave it alone?

Is it none of their business? Becasue you conceived an embryo does not mean you have

every right to end its life.

Abortion is wrong. Pro-choice condones unlawful homicide.Pro-life condones the right to live.

Which side are YOU on?

According to the Guttmacher Institute

  •  Nearly half of all pregnancies among American women are unintended.
  • From 1973-2005 more than fourty-five abortions occurred.
  • Teengagers obtain 17% of all abortions in the U.S..

CONTRACEPTION: Methods of Birth Control

1.   Sexual Abstinence: the practice of refraining from engaging insexual intercourse

2.   Condoms: According to the American Pregnancy Association, a condom is a latex material rolled over the erect penis of a male prior to contact with the vagina

3.   Hormonal Methods: A health care provider can provide you with birth control pills that are taken daily to prevent pregnancies

4.   WithdrawalRemoving the erect penis from the vagina before ejaculation occurs.

U.S. abortion facts in different states

Abortion: Quick Facts

  • The zygote and early embryo are living human organisms.
  • The unborn offspring in the postembryonic period, after major structures have been outlined, in humans from nine weeks after fertilization until birth
  • Abortion is one of the most common medically performed procedures in the U.S..
  • According to Wisconsin Right To Life, There are approximately 1.3 million abortions performed every year in the U.S..
  • Over 48 million American unborn babies have lost their lives since the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision whichlegalized abortion on demand.

Why women terminate pregnancies:

 Women may decide to terminate due to age. A girl may be to young to have children and also afraid of what society may think of her if she does. Marital status may also play a huge role in why women get abortions. If you are unmarried or lacking a spouse, you are more likely to get an abortion. Last but not least, economic status. If you are financially unstable to have a child, abortion may be your first option.

  1. Abortion is not HUMANE
  2. Abortion is not FEASIBLE
  3. Abortion is not JUST

2009 Pro Life State Wide Campaign for Life Propaganda

This is a history project where I had to pick a point of divergence and then make an example of today and what things would look like. I did Roe V Wade, and that it went the other way. I created a organization that is a generic pro life organization. It is suppose to show what the pro life movement would like if Roe V. Wade went the other way.  Each document is suppose to be an example of a piece of propaganda from the organization.

Abortion v.s Stem cell Research

I’m sitting here in my house in my PJ’s wonder what I should do. I have math to do but I feel as if it is too early to comprehend equations for task 2 on my benchmark. I’m caught up and relatively ahead in History and biochemistry. So then it popped into my wind as if a certain man has swung a hammer and destroyed a watermelon.  I have to finish up my blog posts for English. Two of them were do YESTERDAY! So I have grabbed my unique White Apple and began to take a bite to consume some thirst quenching knowledge.
(Mr. Chase if you are reading this I’m guessing that I should right like this some more. Lol.)
    Anyhow, I have completed my first blog post that I have had to make up which was BLog post 7. I have begun to write about the subtopic of Abortion because my main topic is Stem-cell Research vs. Abortion. Now I have posted some material I have read in the other blogs but I still feel as if I haven’t grasp the actual fundamental of knowledge required to create my project including abortion, therefore I am going to refresh my memory along with your with some basics of abortion.

This webpage displays the various facts, effect and description of an abortion. One thing that must be addressed are the risks in which are presented during an abortion. Here is some form this webpage. Risks    Return to top

Risks of surgical abortion include:

    * Excessive bleeding
    * Infection of the uterus or fallopian tubes
    * Damage to the uterus or cervix
    * Emotional or psychological distress

The risks of surgical abortion increase, as a woman gets further along in her pregnancy. That's why it's important to make a decision about abortion as early as possible, when the procedure is safest.

Risks of medical (non-surgical) abortion include:

    * Prolonged bleeding
    * Fetus not passing completely from body, making surgery necessary
    * Nausea
    * Vomiting
    * Diarrhea
    * Pain

The risks for any anesthesia are:

    * Reactions to medications
    * Problems breathing

The risks for any surgery are:

    * Bleeding
    * Infection

There is also more information as to the reason people get abortions, how some are performed, who they can be done at, the after effects of it and definition of Abortion which is: “An abortion is a procedure to end a pregnancy by removing the fetus and placenta from the mother's womb.

There are many forms of abortion -- sometimes an abortion occurs on its own (spontaneously), and other times a woman chooses (elects) to end the pregnancy.”

Blog 7 Abortion

In this blog I am going to list various facts and statistics about abortion. The first set are from a website called http://www.guttmacher.org and this link will take you to the Induced Abortions page of the website. These facts were posed in January 2008, which would mean that is has some of the most recent evidence and facts. This Page was created by the Guttmacher institute and it has taken information and have cited them at the bottom of their page, which is what the numbers at the end of the sentences refer to.

This cites carries a lot of information regarding abortion, but the information I am looking for today has to do with the law and policies of abortion. Lucky me I happened to find a section within the page that I have hyperlinked. This is taken straight from the page so that you do not have to wait for that page to load up, unless u wants to take a look at more of the information they provide. Below is a brief history of the regulations for Stem-cell research.

“LAW AND POLICY

• In the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, the Supreme Court ruled that women, in consultation with their physician, have a constitutionally protected right to have an abortion in the early stages of pregnancy—that is, before viability—free from government interference.

• In 1992, the Court reaffirmed the right to abortion in Planned Parenthood v. Casey. However, the ruling significantly weakened the legal protections previously afforded women and physicians by giving states the right to enact restrictions that do not create an “undue burden” for women seeking abortion.

• Thirty-five states currently enforce parental consent or notification laws for minors seeking an abortion. The Supreme Court ruled that minors must have an alternative to parental involvement, such as the ability to seek a court order authorizing the procedure.[18]

• Even without specific parental involvement laws, six in 10 minors who have an abortion report that at least one parent knew about it.[19]

• Congress has barred the use of federal Medicaid funds to pay for abortions, except when the woman’s life would be endangered by a full-term pregnancy or in cases of rape or incest.

• Seventeen states use public funds to pay for abortions for some poor women, but only four do so voluntarily; the rest do so under a court order.[20] About 13% of all abortions in the United States are paid for with public funds[21] (virtually all from state governments).[22]

• Family planning clinics funded under Title X of the federal Public Health Service Act have helped women prevent 20 million unintended pregnancies during the last 20 years. An estimated nine million of these pregnancies would have ended in abortion.[23] “

Upon reading this I am able to deduct that the Government does fund abortion. The only ways that the government funds it is under certain circumstances. Some of these situations were listed above such as Incest, Rape, to help poor people whom cannot afford the procedure. Also note that as the funding goes for the poor only seventeen States do such, and only four voluntarily do so.

Stem CEll research Vs. ABortion #6

I have come to a realization that the topic I have chosen has been misleading in someway. I have said that I was posting information on Stem cell research then abortion. I have done some research upon abortions and found out that the term “abortion” means the actual extraction of the baby. So technically in order to get embryonic stem cells toy must abort it. Though I for a split second believed that my post have been misleading, they totally have not. There are many ways to abort a pets, there are some less painful ways and the there are ones in which the baby can fell it.
This is one in which they use salt to kill the pets, which can basically cause as much pain as possible as the salt eats away and burns the baby. This is a short description from http://www2.hu-berlin.de/sexology/ATLAS_EN/html/abortion_methods.html

“Saline Injection

This method, also known as "salting out", consists of replacing some of the fluid surrounding the fetus with salt water. This is done by inserting a long, hollow needle through the abdomen into the amniotic sac inside the uterus. The salt water kills the fetus. The uterus starts contracting usually within the next two days, resulting in the delivery of the dead fetus.”

In this article there is a situation in which the unborn baby was to feel no pain. The unborn baby was delivered alive and was not taken care of by the medical staff. Along with the situation the staff did not follow orders the patient had bestowed them. This is one example in which the unborn baby may feel no pain but the patient did not receive it as she ordered the to give it to her.

“Digoxin is a drug injected into an unborn baby to cause his or her heart to stop in preparation for what amounts to a stillborn birth. Angele says despite having asked for it, she did not receive the digoxin injection, which she surmises caused the baby to be born alive. “
