I'm going to change history by saying that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married and that in the Qur'an instead of saying that you can have 4 wives it says the opposite. I also included photoshopped pictures and reversed facts about men and women. One really good example that I have of 2010 changing is the presidency and instead of Barack Obama winning, it would be Hilary Clinton.

For American History our quarter four benchmark could be on any topic that would have a drastic impact on American History. We had to identify a point of divergence, include 3 primary source documents, show how it would change 2010, and lastly find a way to present this information. I decided to create a Wiki, and for my 3 sources I made a newpaper article, my own set of laws, and fake statistics. Here is the link to my wiki:

BILL TRACKING 11/9/09
Submitted by arollins on Mon, 11/09/2009 - 18:18.
HOUSE BILL~ NO ACTION
CONGRESS BILL~ NO ACTION
SENATE BILL~ NO ACTION
As far as the executive branch's role within each of these bills, I believe that the president should step in and kind of "coach" each specific one. For example, with the federal reserve transparency act, the presdient shold come and and just kind of tweak the bill so that it could be officially passed.

- Did you work the
election last year?
No this is the first time I
have worked here.
- How is this year
different from 2009?
Last year, more people came only about 17 people came.
- What is the best part
of being a poll worker?
Well its hard work, but seeing the excitement of the
election and sharing our political views on it is what makes me happy.
- What is the most
difficult part of being a poll worker?
The most difficult part is getting
people out to vote and staying there all day.
Election Day 2009 For Narayan El
Submitted by nel on Wed, 11/04/2009 - 02:56.
Today when I went out to the polling facility, I quickly noticed that the election scenario this year was hardly like that of last year at all. There were no lines, and not a huge amount of people streaming in and out of the facility. The only similarity between this and last year's election that I saw was that the same people were overseeing/facilitating the voting process, such as Ms. Terry. Connor. From what I understand, today's election scene is much less active than last year's because citizens are voting for individuals for positions that aren't as high as president and vice president. For example, here in Pennsylvania, the election was for Supreme Court judges/justices, the retention of already serving Supreme Court officials, and also for election judges, which Terry was one of the candidates for. So, I would say that because less authoritative figures are being elected today, everyone isn't't as interested in the election, making the voter turnout lower and causing the facilities to receive less activity. In New Jersey, however, the new governor is being elected, so I would assume the activity is of a higher level over there. For Pennsylvania, it's simply a drop in the frequency of business regarding this year's election due to decreased priority in people's eyes.
Election Day 11.03.09

I went to the Kendrick recreation center and talked to a senior lady working at the poll. It seemed as those most of the people I saw there were fairly old, actually. I asked her if she had been there last year for the Presidential election, and she said yes. When I asked her is it was much difference from this year she nodded vigorously. Last year there was a line of voters the entire day. At the time I was there the room was pretty much empty.
The turnout was much less than last year, and apparently the place I went to had been doing better compared to other polling places. Last year voters of all ages came. She said there were a lot of enthusiastic young voters then, but not so many now. Thats one of the reasons she enjoys working there. She likes to meet new people and see them interested in voting. When I asked her why she thought it was so slow, she said people don't see as much significance in this type of election because its mostly just judges. Working there mostly just involves paper work/checking and double checking all sorts of lists. Other than that, she said "the job is easy."

City Council, Bill 090569= This bill was scheduled to be part of the focus for the meeting we went to on 10/22/09, but the motion was passd to suspend its decision until next meeting, along with several of the other bills that were supposed to get decided on this week.

US Congress Bill ~ NO LATEST ACTION
PA State Bill ~ NO RECENT ACTION
City Council Bill ~ There will be a City Council meeting tomorrow (10/22/09) at 10am in room 400.
Of the three proposed bills, I believe that the City Council Bill (Towing) should be passed becausethe bill movesin the right direction. The bill proposes that vehicles reported stolen should not be towed unless warning has been given to the car's owner. In Philadelphia, there is a problem with stolen vehicles and by passing this bill, owners are able to recover their cars.

National Bill, H.R. 2078: No ore action has been taken regarding this bill since June 4, 2009.
State Bill, H.B. 349: Nothing has happened sinc eit was recommitted to Appropriations on April 23, 2009.
City Council Bill, 090569: Nothing else happened with this one since last week, and the next meeting for it is still scheduled for 10/22/09.
If I could have just one of my bills pass, I would want it to be the national one, H.R. 2078. Since it establishes a national comission for studying employment and economic insecurity, it would allow us to better understand our problems regarding finance and available occupations for our citizens. If we understand our problems well through this comission that can possibly be established, then more legislation to assist America and bring us out of a recession faster will come as a result.

House Bill, H.R. 2078: Nothing else has taken place regarding this bill.
State Bill, H.B. 349: Nothing else happened with this one so far either.
Philadelphia City Council, 090569: Something happened. My city council bill was reported favored favorably after its recent meeting, and a rule suspension has been requested. The next meeting regardign my city council bill is scheduled for October 22, 2009.
As far asthe national leevel is concerned, my bill about an association to study employment and economic security is more than likely not getting the required attention because of the health care situation. That is due to the fact that health care is currently the most important aspect of our country's organization in the eyesof our legislators. The focus of our government, at least nationally at the moment, is on health care and recovering frm our recession.

All three bills seem to be either not important of just straight up uncool.
The level of government I chose was federal because it seems as if all the attention is on this Health Care Bill that no one can seem to explain to another person without a highly confusing debate being sparked. On most "American BIll" websites I've been on so far, all I run into is another health bill with the exact same content as the next one.

There hasn't been any recent recent actions on any one of my three bills since about two weeks ago. I mean with the topics that my bills include I pretty sure by the next bill tracking, I'll have some hot action to report. My US Congress bill talks about Federal Reserve and audits by the government. The reason I believe that it isn't getting much attention is because of the Healthcare Bill right now. Congress is pretty focused on America's healthcare system and proposing a better solution.

House Bill= H.R. 2078: Nothing else has happened with this bill yet. It may still see action, but at this point it's probably not very likely.
Senate Bill, H.B. 349: The last action was still when it got re-committed to Appropriations on April 23, 2009. No further action has been taken with this bill either.
City Council Bill, 090569: Nothing happened since this bill was referred to the Committee on Streets and Services on September 1, 209. As far as I know, its next meeting scheduled for October 12, 2009 is still going to happen.
