My reaction to Obama's victory speech
Submitted by jnaff on Fri, 01/16/2009 - 14:19.
I over all found it kind of boring (no offense to obama) but I've never been one for speeches. I personally like obama there is just one thing that I don't like about him and I don't think it's really his fault but I find it annoying that he is portraid as if he is some sort of prophet. I mean honestly he's not and people are going to get mad at him just like they got mad at Bush (obviously less) I just can't stand how in public he comes across to me as a person whom isn't down to earth and that's the way people talk about him too. Well I got the same feeling from his speech and I just can't stand it.

my reaction to the obama speech was just that whoever wrote that speech
should get a raise because it was very well written, it appealed to the
public and made me think that he cared a little at some points in his
speech. i was also not really surprised as well because it was obvious
that he was going to win to me. at the same time i was happy because i
thought now we have a chance to help heal the wounds that obama's
predecessors left behind.

I come to Berlin as so many of my countrymen have come before.
Tonight, I speak to you not as a candidate for President, but as a
citizen - a proud citizen of the United States, and a fellow citizen of
the world.
I know that I don't look like the Americans who've
previously spoken in this great city. The journey that led me here is
improbable. My mother was born in the heartland of America, but my
father grew up herding goats in Kenya. His father - my grandfather -
was a cook, a domestic servant to the British.

On the evening of November 4th, the United States was blessed with a new reforamtion. Obama, our first multi-racial president, was introduced as our soon to be leader. Obama has not only promised change, but he has told us how he was going to approach the problems. I am excited to see all the revisions that our new upcoming president is going to make. Barack Obama had a very moving and inspirational acceptance speech.
My Obama speach reaction!

When Obama was elected, it wasd a very emotional time for my family. My dad gowing up in the time of the time when there was plenty of racism, with the civil rights movement and such. My dad grew up during the time when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and Malcolm X were both shot. He never thought he would see this day, and was proud of the African American race for this great accomplishment. Even though, Obama isn't fully black, this is something that will bring us one step closer. During the Obama speech, my family and I noticed that Obama wasn't cocky, or anything, and didn't hold grudges against the Republicans. He says that Democrats and Republicans, need to work through this crisis, and this is something I strongly agree with.

Barack Obama's Acceptance Speech Reflection
Submitted by tkidd on Thu, 01/15/2009 - 17:37.
During his speech he spoke about economic crisis, health care, education etc. Obama believes in change in Washington D.C, this change is not ordinary change, he believes in a change that is going to get middle class people better health care, more jobs and more teachers. Barack Obama said something in his speech, that had me saying "YES WE CAN" all night long. Obama said in speech and i quote " America, we are better than the last eight years.....We love this country too much to let the next four years look like the last eight.

My reaction to Obama becoming the44th president of the United States of America was not surprised atall. It did not come as a shock to me because I figured that in the futurethere was bound to be an African American president, I just didn’t know when itwould occur. Once Barack Obama announced that he would run for the office ofcommander in chief, I thought he had a good chance of winning the election.Although his competition was fierce, I believed that he had the rightcredentials to lead our nation. Also, throughout the whole campaign, BarackObama stayed truthful and honorable. Therefore, he gained the respect and trustof the American people. In return, they contributed by going out to vote forhim.

Reaction Towards Obama's Acceptance Speech.
Submitted by jmcclain on Mon, 01/05/2009 - 00:56.
My reaction towards Obama's Speech was mutual. After reading the transcript and watching the speech it had me feeling great, do to the simple fact that I actually had a chance to experience something so great and amazing. I never was interesting in politics but now after that speech it had me reconsidering it. I never thought that. I would compare that speech to Martin Luther Kings Speech. Only because it had the same impact on me. To me they both shared the same message. Especially when he was speaking about how the people who serve for this country may be republicans and democrats but they serve it together in which is what is how i see MLK's speech. Unity is the word.

Kern Clarke English Benchmark
Submitted by kclarke on Thu, 11/20/2008 - 03:10.
For my English Benchmark I had to write a five-paragraph essay. The topic had to be related to the Odyssey. We had to write a thesis statement on it. We had to choose a theme to write about. Our themes and choices came form the book The Odyssey. We had to include a quote in every paragraph with no excuses.
For my essay I chose to write about love in the book. My thesis is that "men do not show love freely". I had very good evidence to prove my points. I put a good amount of references to the book to show the reader where I got my reasoning. I also had 5 paragraph of goo information.
Kern Clarke Biochemistry Benchmark
Submitted by kclarke on Thu, 11/20/2008 - 02:09.
Our benchmark was the “History Of Science”. My classmates and me were divided into pairs and each pair researched a scientist. We each had to make a fact sheet about the scientist. We were required to make a Power Point or Keynote presentation about the scientist. We also had to fill out an application.
For the benchmark, we were paired with a partner. My partner was Rashaun Williams who was in charge of doing the research and summarizing them. My part of the project was to organize a fact sheet and the Keynote presentation. Each of the groups was assigned a scientist to research about. My group had to research Hans Adolf Krebs.
Kern Clarke Geomatry Benchmark
Submitted by kclarke on Thu, 11/20/2008 - 01:40.
For our geometry benchmark, my class was split into groups of two or three. We had to make a class presentation. In this project a partner and me had to create a -10minute lesson plan on a math topic given to us. We also had to create a math pamphlet on the topic. The topic that I had was Geometry in sports.
My group was Rashaun Williams, and myself. Our topic was sports and how they relate to Geometry. The sports we were given to teach about were baseball, track & field, and snowboarding. We decided for each of us to talk about one and we both talked about the last one. We had some media in our lesson such as a video on track & field and on snowboarding.

Open Letter to President-Elect Obama

Dear President-Elect Obama,
Congratulations on your election to the office of the Presidency. I look forward to your Presidency with hope and happiness.
During your campaign, you talked about your energy policy, which included the use of clean coal technology. However, clean coal technology is not clean, and coal will never be a clean source of energy. The toxic byproducts of coal are not magically neutralized through the process to make “clean coal.” They are simply captured in filters. But those filters need to replaced every six months or a year, and they have to be stored somewhere.

This country needs change. Even though Obama will not be in office until Next year but the people are stirring and change has already started to take action.
My Reaction To Obama's Speech

My reaction to Obama's speech was..."that is so true". I said this because when I first watched the speech it was 1:00am and I was too tired to truely respond. Though I was tired, I was still listening to everything Obama was saying. I agreeded with what Obama was saying because he said it was time for change and that he was going to make it.Another reaction I had to Obama's speech was that it was pretty long. To me that makes it a bit less interesting to listen to and to watch.

I don't know what I'm really supposed to say, the speech is amazing
and so is his victory, but can I say that this was so unexpected? Let's
face it the speech seems perfected, pre-written, and above all
practiced, so can we say he didn't expect this as well? In my mind this
was less of a presidential victory speech and more of a pop-idol
accepting an award. Now I am not a racist, I simply do not think we
should be so excited about this, what does this change? How can you
tell me in four years of Obama, we can fix eight outstanding years of
perfected idiocy?

On November 4, 2008, Barack Hussein Obama II was elected the 43rd President of the United States of America. He gave his victory speech in front of thousands of Americans in Chicgo, Illinois. The speech was not only historical but also memorable because of the circumstances. As we all know, Obama is the United States' first African-American president. The nation has proven that they are ready for a change and that change will come soon.
