Election Day

I have had trouble uploading the picture, and I'm hoping that in class, you might be able to help me out with this.
This election scene had only a few people at the ballots this year, while last year, there were long lines of people waiting to vote. A major reason for this was not only because last year was a presidential election, but it was also because Barack Obama was a candidate for president. This had spawned a lot of controversy between Democrats and Republicans, and each party was desperate to make sure that they get the President they desired. This year, this was an election between congressmen, making this far less exciting, and nowhere near historical.

Obama's speech was very inspiring. I felt like he kept his compulsure and made sure that he didn't seem to be gloating about his victory. This showed what type of person he was. He made the citizens of the United States feel a sense of trust in his plans to fix our broken country. I also liked the fact that he explained how all his descisions will be made with his country in mind.
Open Letter to Barack Obama

Dear President Barack Obama,
I am very glad to see someone such as yourself come into the White house, especially in these troubled times. Just to get things straight, the fact that you are of African American origin is not a factor as to why I believe you are our country’s best choice right now. It is your policies and strategies that I believe will help get America back on its feet. On another note, I read the email Ralph Nader sent you attempting to expose your so-called cowardice. This has not shaken my view of you at all and only strikes me as a desperate cry from a dirty politician to start drama over a victorious candidate. But alas, let’s move on to why I am writing this letter.

My reaction to President Elect Barack Obama's speech was that I thought was amazing. He talked with such pride and glory. I was very happy during his speech, and in some weird way it touched me. I felt like this was a miracle him winning the election and with his speech it was like icing on the cake. He spoke as us as a nation like when he said “we the people…. not black, and white, gay or straight, handicap, and non-handicap” he was speaking to every last one of us not just not specific groups or religions, but us.

My reaction to President Obama's speech was very energitic. As soon as it was decelared that he was the President of the united states I started to scream and act all hyper. His speech was great and I was so proud of him because he is the first black President. Although I knew that he was probaly going to win I was still suprised for some odd reason. I almost cried when he made the speech it was so beautiful.
I almost cried because of the 106 year old woman that her story was so moving and sad.I hope that he does a good job in Presidency in turning america around in the years.

My reaction to the election was shock. I thought this because I did not think America was ready for a black president. Especially in the south where racism is more common then in the more northern state. I wanted Obama for president but I did not think that he would win just on the fact that people would think he would be a risk. I am not sure why I thought people would be like that. I know the only reason why alot people actually voted for McCain was because everyone thought that he would be the safe bet based on the ideas that he stood for.

My election reaction to Barack Obama when he gave his acceptance speech was hopeful and shocked. I was so full of pride because I saw it happening but I couldn't believe it it was like a dream that I never knew could come true .His speech was so inspirational not only to the people but especially to the african-american people him winning the election is letting blacks know that there is a way of change and that our people really are making history one step at a time.

Last night's 2008 election, Tuesday November 4, was more than a competition. The election served as a milestone in history. Barack Obama is officially the first African-American president in the United States of America. Last nights election impacted me by making me literally on the edge of my seat. In this election, I was more involved then another because of the access to the Internet. The Internet provided me with the opportunity to communicate to friends and fellow pupils about the current standings of the election. It was a great experience because everyone was communicating their opinions, predictions, and each candidate’s different policies.

I was sitting with my cousins, my best freinds my aunt and my mom, and we ahd heard that based on the information that MSNBC had received, Obama has won the election. We all went nuts, and then MSNBC put a pictureof Obama saying he was would go on to be the next president of the USA. My aunts and grandother cried, my mom teared at the eyes and attacked me, my friends and I then ran down the street screaming to the top of our lungs Obama's name. W drove my friend home and saw all sorts of people show the pride and joy together and chant his name. Then my father came to and said "We made history. Now you're definately going to college!" I was sooooo, happy.

Watching Obama's speech filled alot of things in me. It was very emotional to me because first of all, it is shocking and filled with excitement to see that we have made history. We finally have a black president! I thought it would be pretty impossible. But I'm so very happy! Second, just watching other people's reactions to his speech made me realize that I can put all my trust in Obama to be in a safe country. I believed every word he said in front of those Chicago citizens even though I wasn't there. He is an open person and also a truthful person and that's the kind of president us Americans expect.

While I was watching the speech, it all felt like a dream. I smacked myself multiple times and I kept saying "is this real". I was amazed that he wasn't shot right then and there because so many people believe that he will be assented because he is black. If the white people of America who don't like Obama, have a problem with him being president, imagine how we felt when Bush was in office. Obama has officially made history now that he is the first black president.

This years presidential election left me in awe. It felt like a dream. I still can't believe that America actually voted for an African-American president elect. This whole race has made my out look on life different. I see things from a point of view that once was hopeless that is now optimistic. This election has left me thinking that one day, just maybe, the world will change.
When I watched President elect Barack Obama's speech I was overwhelmed with joy and happiness. When Barack Obama started speaking I started crying. I was astonished when I saw the first black president of the United States. This whole election left me in wonderment. I thought to my self, "This is a beautiful thing, change really is now!"

My reaction to the election was a good one. I clapped and yelled woo when I found out that Obama had won. I believed that he was the best choice for president this year and that he will do good. When Obama made his speech, I held back the tears. It was very touching and his tone was very empowering.

I cried when I watched the race. To see the first black president ever, is extremely touching. Besides that, I was blown away by the amount of electoral votes Obama had over McCain. I was jumping up and down on my couch, screaming in shock and surprise. I wasn't surprised that Obama won actually, I was more surprised at the number because I was pretty sure McCain was going to be very close to Obama.

I like Obama and I think his speeches are amazing. He really kept my attention. Although I was raised as a republican, I really like Obama. I think he is a great candidate and I'm glad he won and I like how he handled his acceptance speech. I see a lot of McCain's views though and I like what he stands for. I can't really see Obama's views as much as I can with McCain's. Obama's acceptance speech was the first time I really listened to him speak and I wish I heard some of his other speeches.
When Obama spoke about Ann he seemed genuine about what he had to say about her. He looked like he knew a lot about her and enjoyed telling her story. I'm happy for him and I'm glad he won.

This is the first election I have ever fully seen, mainly because it made history. Nobody would have believed that Barack Obama, or even an African American person, would become president. The reputation of all white presidents has shadowed the sight of a black president, yet proof that that has changed was shown yesterday night. My reaction: surprised and happy. I was thrilled to see Obama elected as the next president because that could be something I can tell my children: I saw Barack Obama, the first black president, being elected.

My first reaction to the election was to be surprised. I ran through the house screaming and yelling to my parents room. I just couldn't believe that we were living through history. That's a big step to change I thought, first black President, and I just couldn't belive it. Obama's speech was very uplifting. It moved people and made them come together as one and all together we know we can make a change in America. I believe that it is time we come together to make a change. Obama wasn't only talking to everyone in America, but to everyone in all different place. I was amazed to see all the people who stayed up late just to see him. It time for change and we can do it. YES WE CAN!!

The people of America have voted, and the president has been decided. Our next president is Barack Obama. This election was very exciting, as the polls seemed to get tighter and tighter. I believe both candidates campaigned very well and did a very good job, but in the end, Barack Obama and Joe Biden beat John McCain and Sarah Palin and assumed (future) presidency of the United States. Last night (Tuesday, November 4, 2008), Obama gave a speech to America about his presidency.

My reaction to Obama's speech was at first to scream along with the crowd, because I agreed with everything that Obama spoke of. I was really happy and a bit shocked from the fact that he was voted for president. I had wanted Obama to win, and as i watched his speech, I felt a bit victorious. I felt really glad to be able to see something like this happen, something that will be remembered in U.S history. Something that I will be able to tell my grandchikdren about.

I was overwhlemed by the election. His speech was magnificent. When he first started his speech i just sat and watched. I also listened. But as he got deeper and deeper into it I started to get teary eyed. The way he smothly spoke about americans and african-americans was so down to earth. At my young age i felt that I had a president , not me as a statistic or a nummber in poll. But me as a a person I felt i have a person that really cares about my fututre. When he started talking about how we as a country aren't enemies but friends, is really when he had me. I just felt so joyus watching a African-American man on a stage telling the fututre he plans for us.

When it was announced that Barack Obama was elected our next president, I was supposed to be asleep in my room. However, sleep was the last thing that i had on my mind. In a matter of minutes I heard that he won from channel 29 news, heard people screaming outside of my house, and the dj's on power 99 were announcing the good news all at the same time. I was overjoyed and overwhelmed with happiness. The feeling reminded me of when the phillies won, except 10x better.
