Print making project

In 9th grade art the students of Science Leadership Academy were assigned to make a print of an element they were assigned and make a picture that represents it . My element was Bismuth. When i look it up to research it i found that it could be found in fire sprinklers, nail polish , and pepto bismol. I choose pepto bismol because i thought it was kind of cool how the name of the element was mixed in the title. Pepto bismol and bismuth. The only thing i did a bit different was instaed of putting pepto bismol on my print i put pepto bismuth.

Screen Printing Project

This project was very hard. It took me a long time to even get to the part of cutting out my stencils because Ms. Hull needed to get more freezer paper. It took me about three weeks just to get to the point I am at now, as you can see above. Since my drawing was so cramped together, I kept messing up and cutting off things that shouldn't have been cut. If I could do it again, I would do a bigger drawing so it would be easier to cut out.

A clash between Art and Biochemistry produced The Print Making Project. The agenda is to do research on the three elements given. When the info is collected, make a sketch that resembles the info gathered. Then you have three sketches in front of you. Choose one and make a print out of it. Silver chemical symbol Ag from its Latin name Argentums. It is a transitional metal and has the highest electrical conductivity. That’s how I got the idea for my prints. I would make a print with lightning striking the metal. My first design was similar to the design of franklins experiment when he tied a key to a kite. I made a beautiful sketch although is would be hard to carve. So I made a simple but elegant sketch.

This is a history project where I had to pick a point of divergence and then make an example of today and what things would look like. I did Roe V Wade, and that it went the other way. I created a organization that is a generic pro life organization. It is suppose to show what the pro life movement would like if Roe V. Wade went the other way. Each document is suppose to be an example of a piece of propaganda from the organization.

My Printmaking Project

This project consisted of picking an element on the periodic table and talking about it. It was a new and interesting topic and I had fun doing it. My element was Nd (Neodymium) which is inside of some metals, including the kinetic balls that we people love to marvel over. You first draw the picture, then you trace your drawing to linoleum. After that, you cut out what you traced with a razor. There are two types of razors; big for wide lines, and thin for thin lines. With the aid of that, you can create a masterpiece, then paint it to a paper. In SLA, we like broadcasting out work around the school so we all hang our linoleum masterpieces onto the wall. It was the first fun art experience since I got here and I would love to do it again.
