History Benckmark

The King Tut Diner was a skit that me and my grouppreformed. It consisted of 5 different pieces, the script, seating chart, invitations, menu, and the press release. Each had to be very detailed and haveresearch and time put into it. The main characters were the Bureaucrat (Noble),Priest, and Farmer. Any extra characters that were consistent with AncientEgypt.

Thecharacter I played was the scribe. He is the official documenter and advisor tothe King. My part in the project was to collect, edit, and add onto thedialogue from each individual character. I liked working in teams. Its great tocollaborate and bounce ideas of each other.

Mi Verano in English is My Summer. This is a story, fictional or non-fictional, that depicts a summer event. All the words of thisproject had to be in Spanish and it had to have either recorded audio orspeaking during the presentation. My story is completely fictional. Its about ateenager that travels from a Spanish speaking country in Africa to America. Theteen goes to Florida for a motorcycle racing championship event. After the racethere is a whole scene with a shark and a rioting group of animal protectors. Afterthe teen returns home in time for the release of a popular movie.

The Scientist Portfolio was a collection of information onone specific scientist. The info that we needed was the D.O.B., work and fieldof study, events during their time period and any awards that were either givenor named after them.

Thescientist that I was assigned to was Guglielmo Marconi. One of his inventionswas the radio. Me and my partner both split the information we needed toresearch. After that we sent each other the info we found and then put it ontoa profile form. That was uploaded on to our school site. There were two otherpieces that were included in our grade, but this part summed up all of theresearch and information that was put into the other two.

The Oddyssey books XIX & XX

In this episode of English red 1 we first filled out a quiz over books XIX and XX in our teams. Once this was done we began our discouson around the questions and answers.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1.) In book XIX, lines 47-48 Odysseus says he’s going to “test the women” Why is this so important to Odysseus to “test” the women? What is he testing them for?

He wants to see if the women are still loyal and not helping the suitors
Maybe the women know information that people outside the house may not know.
Examples can be seen in page 391 line 47

-Why is loyalty important?
The is seeing who is loyal to see how to plot what will happen
He needs to see how many people he can have on his side
If no one is loy to him it is like fighting for a lost cause
If she wasn’t loyal then there was no point
The old beggar was loyal then other people such as his wife should be loyal
The women and me were treated differently the women he seems to expect more then from the men of the house
Women might have something to do with what is going on the in the house

He expects more because they interact with Penelope
He wants to know the whole truth

2.) Explain the interaction between Odysseus and Eurycleia in book XIX lines 410-560.

She was there when he was born

-On page 402 460
The section explains their interaction between each other. It also seems as if she know it is Odysseus.

-Page 405 lines 539
She was there his whole life so there conversation was deep
She basically raised him.

What dose he do after the revelation?
He reacts by talking about getting rid of the other women as well as Eurycleia if word gets out the he is home.
He problem doesn’t trust any other women so he wants to get rid of them all
If it gets to the suitors that Odysseus is still alive then they will go after him

-406 line 552
If the gods tell him to kill her & the other women he won’t think twice bout what is going on.
He doesn’t make any Attempt to say he wont kill his wife
You can tell he believes lot in the gods by wording of that section showing that he will not think twice if they tell him to do something

-Can you make connection between what is going on with Odysseus & Athena

Before when he was getting bet by the suitors
Athena said the suitors should be killed. Now Odysseus thinks the women should be killed.
Athena brain washed Odysseus because she wants Odysseus to her self so now he is thinking like her
Goes back to book 20
Instance in book 20
Describe n instant

3.) In book XX Athena gets involved in the interaction between the suitors and Odysseus. Describe on moment that involves her self. What is the impact of her intervention?
Line 310
Athena is trying to make him madder and madder
She is egging him on she is making him mad and thinking everyone is aginst him making him mad
On page 411 line 40 She is saying what she is to
8
Odysseus is she knows what she is doing is “right”

In the end it comes down to Athena is annoying and we don’t like her too much.
