Irlanda y Italia : Vincent Russell

Posted by Vincent Russell in SP3-005 on
This project was to write a song in response to the following question, "De donde vengo yo?", which means "Where did I come from?". We had to answer it in our own unique way, providing 2 verses and a chorus.  In this project I re-learned some parts of spanish, learned some new phrases and words.  I thought of it as remembering and using spanish while talking about our past.  I proud of the uniqueness though it is a bit odd, having two totally different types of music in the same song.  If I were to do this again I would make it longer, include more lyrics and record it better.

Lleno cancion

Refrán

Mi antepasado come de Irlanda,

y Italia  y eso es la cuento de mi.

Oda de Filadelfia:Evangelina Stewart-McDonald

Posted by Sabrina Stewart-McDonald in SP3-005 on
In this project we had to write a song that describes where we are from. In the song, we had to answer the question 'where did I come from?' and describe it in a way. In this project, I learned how to make non-rhyming lyrics, fit into a rhythm and how to make my own rhythm. I am especially proud of the music to my song because I am not usually good with things like garageband and ,to me, my music actually sounded pretty decent. If I had to do this all over again, I would change the lyrics, maybe make them rhyme a bit, so they flow easier.

Vengo de Filadelfia.

Yo viví en ese ciudad

todo mi vida, por muchos años

Me encanta los luces,

sonidos y edificios altos.

Yo vengo de una ciudad.

historia, arte, y música

Mi corazón vive en ese ciudad.

Mi alma pertenece.

Yo vive en una ciudad

pinta una obra maestra

de personas muchas.

Expresa se mismo.

Aceptamos todos los personas.

Yo vengo de una ciudad.

historia, arte, y  música

Mi corazón vive en ese ciudad.

Mi alma pertenece.

Bee's Cancion

Posted by Breeanna Noi in SP3-005 on
The purpose of the project was to write a song about where you're from. Where your family's from, where you live, anything in general - as long as it has to do with YOU.

I'm proud of being able to write it out and understand where my family is from. We've been all over the place, but it's what makes my family unique.

If I could do this over again, I would probably learn how to sing beforehand. I sing horribly, but that brings us to the next problem - I didn't have a instrumental in mind. I wrote out the lyrics and then decided to find a song, but that didn't work considering my lyrics didn't go with it. I then had to change my lyrics while recording. So next time, I'd plan this out better.

yo no puedo cantar

Este es el final

yo estoy muy mal.

Fin de Semana Extra Credito- Facebook Language

Posted by Shamarlon Yates in SP3-005 on
I really learned a lot from this activity including various vocabulary words and how to form sentences in Spanish. This was a new experience for me because I have always used Facebook in English so it took some time for me to adjust. I think that I interacted with the Spanish language more because I had to read all the instructions in Spanish like ¿Qué estás pensando? or escribe un comentario. Overall, it was a great learning experience for me and I think that I am going to continue using my Facebook in Spanish because there is still so much I can learn. I think that it is something that my classmates can also try.

EXTRA CREDITO *Facebook Language*

Posted by Tenzin Ngawang in SP3-005 on
Changing your facebook language to a new language was an amazing idea because it was fascinating. I learned tons of new words! I kind of made a collage of different things in spanish. It was interesting to see words that I usually see in spanish and trying to understand it. I learned that if you try, you'll learn. :)

FACEBOOK EN ESPANOL? ME GUSTAAAA~

Posted by Pauline Garcia in SP3-005 on
I read Srta. G's post that we can change our facebook language to Spanish for 24 hours and write a feedback about it. At first I didn't want to do it because I'm sure that I'm not going to understand what my facebook page is talking about. However, I thought what am I going to lose?
Right when I changed the language, I went to my home page. Then I fell in love. I saw ME GUSTA. I shall never change my language back to english.
To be honest though, I sometimes get lost because I need to think things through before clicking some buttons. I also learned new words because of what Facebook Spanish taught me. Overall, I like this activity. I learned new things just by being in facebook. Awesome sauce. ME GUSTA

De Donde Vengo Yo?

Posted by Jennifer Wright in SP3-005 on
Niños en los calles
toque de queda es nada
asuntos primordiales- ¿qué hora es la cena?

Amo o no amo, es mi barrio
dices lo que te guste
Yo no puedo cambio

Sí, están hablando malo
pero, otra personas, no yo
el reputación estuvo ganó
Yo no ayudo en lo que tornó

Se llama "The Borough"
pero soló un chiste
Es famoso para las personas locos
Yo no "Un Chicca de Roxborough"

Yo no bebo alcohol
en los fines de semana
Yo prefiero jugo
con mis amigas como hermanas

Reflexion
I'm proud of my rhyming that I included. It's sporadic but it flows nicely. I may have to change some of the words to fit the flow of the song. The way it fits into the music may have to change. I chose to talk about about how my neighborhood is and how I am different. Important though, I included though it may have a bad rep I can't change where I'm from and I'm okay with it. A lot of bad things are said about where I'm from so I chose to focus on that.

I'm hoping to make this a rap type thing, using techo music.

Filadelfia

Reflection:
I am proud that I made my first song in spanish and I managed to get all the lyrics done. I do not anticipate on having to change anything before recording my song. In my song, I talked about the food of Philadelphia and how it is. I decided to talk about these things because they are the things I know most since I have been here since birth. The song Im putting my lyrics to are "Moment For Life".

  • What are you especially proud of?
I'm proud of the uniqueness try to put two different types of music together(even though it probably won't work).
  • What do you anticipate having to change before recording your song?
I probably will change some of the lyrics to make it work with the music.
  • What did you talk about in your song?  Why did you choose to talk about those things in talking about where you come from?
When I first thought about the question I thought of my ancestors and how they might have come over. Also, I think explaining my heritage will help in explaining me.
