The Wait

Posted by Taylor Valentine in STORY-002 on
It had been 14 mins and she was still in line. Actually, a line isn't the best way to describe what she was in. She stood in a crowd of people, silently waiting as the numbers slowly increased.  Her feet hurt and after a long day at work, the brightly lit building was the last place she wanted to be. Her briefcase dug into her shoulder, but she was too nervous about the bacteria on the floor to put it down.  She continued to wait as slices were cut, weighed and bagged with the precision of an artist. The problem was, only one artist seemed to exist at that moment. Where are the rest of the employees?, she asked, careful to not appear insane as she talked to herself. As 30 flashed on the screen, she stepped up to the counter.

"
A quarter pound of oven roasted turkey, please."

"Sure," the clearly exhausted deli manager replied.

I officially Hate the dentist!

Posted by Dominque Miller in STORY-002 on
Today I left early to go to the dentist. Last time I went I found out I have 6 cavities, so today I was going to get 3 filled in. I didn't think much of it as I walked down market to 16th st. When I got there the dentist was friendly as always. He kind of reminds me of that grandpa that slips you money in a handshake. Anyway, they got started soon after I got arrived. He numbed my mouth first, and I did not understand the seriousness of that until I tried to laugh at his corny little joke. The then he pulled out this tiny little Satan's drill and started digging and scrapping, and digging and scrapping so more. It was the worst pain, EVER! Then he left, and another one came in to actually do the filling. Then she pulled out these huge tools and drilled them into my teeth! OH MY GOD! I hate her now. She left and then another one came in, to do the cleaning. Which doesn't sound too bad, right? NO! She started scrapping on every single tooth with that little pointy thing! I hate her now, too. When it all finished I was told to rinse, but the water just fell out the side of my face. As I stared at my numb I couldn't stop thinking about how hungry I was, and the fact I couldn't eat for another 2 hours. The worse thing about it is...I have to go back tomorrow to get the other side done!

Championship Game.

Posted by Tajh Jenkins in STORY-002 on
So besides doing homework tonight, my attention will be focused on the Men National Championship Basketball Game between UCONN and Butler. Butler was in the championship game last year but they wound up losing tow Duke. UCONN won the national championship in 2004. This game wasn't expected to be played by these two teams by most people across the country, but there is some really talented players playing and it will for sure be a fun game to watch. I'm rooting for UCONN because of Kemba Walker. He is one of the best two players in the nation, the other being Jimmer Fredette of BYU. He is a real talented player and it would good for him to go into the NBA with a national championship on his prolific college basketball resume.

Finally

Posted by Lenea Harris in STORY-002 on
I went to the mall to try on dresses to find a color. Funny because I decided on my 3 favorite colors. Maybe there's a reason they're my three favorite colors.

So today I jut realized that "Scream 4" comes to theaters next Friday! That's sooner than I thought. I still can't wait to see this movie. Yesterday I followed Wes Craven on Twitter and he's just as excited for the premiere.
