All interested families are strongly encouraged to attend the SLA Open House! SLA representatives will be visiting schools all over Philadelphia, and SLA will have a booth at the School District of Philadelphia High School Fair.

Criteria: Admission to SLA is based on a combination of a student interview at the school with a presentation of completed work, strong TerraNova scores, As and Bs with the possible exception of one C, teacher or counselor recommendation and good attendance and punctuality. Interested families must contact the school to set up an appointment for an interview. SLA will not initiate the interview process with families.

Interviews Dates:
Dec 1st: 10:00 am & 2:00 pm
Dec 2nd: 10:00 am & 2:00 pm
Dec. 15th: 10:00 am & 2:00 pm
Dec. 16th: 10:00 am & 2:00 pm

Interested applicants who meet our admissions criteria must call the school at 215-979-5620 to set up an interview. We do not call students for interviews!

Students should expect to spend up to three hours at SLA at the time of their interview. Students must arrive on-time. Students who show up late will jepordize their opportunity for acceptance into SLA.

What is Needed at the Interview:

The interview is a project-based interview. Students should bring a school paper or project done in 7th or 8th grade that s/he feels is a strong representation of who they are as a student.

Projects will not be returned to applicants. Students may include photocopies of their work.
