ILP

My ILP is fun. We are building a house! We go to different Architecture firms around the city like H2L2, Gilbane, and places like that. My responsibilities are reading over papers and learning about architecture and what goes into building a house. It is challeging deciding what were doing. I am learning how to build a house. Nothing really changed. It wasn't what i had expected, because I had no idea that we would actually design a house that someone will live in, in the real world.
ILP experience..... it seems okay/good so far

My ILP experience started out horrible (see ILP horrible post) but it has gotten much better. my new ILP gives me office skills (something i never had). I work with Mrs. Herchfield (i think thats spelled right) and her intern Zoe. Athonny got invited in when i randomly asked him to help and its been going fine. we are almost done the master college list and I made the folders for last nights college thing. It has changed my look in the ILP experience. yes it can screw you over but in the end it is incredibly rewarding. My responsibilitys are still the college list but after that is done I'll just do whatver Herchfield tells me to do. I'll keep you posted (not really)

The Inspiration Team.

The Phillies are more than just a baseball team. They are people who inspire other people. Yesteday when the Philadelphia Phillies won the World Series, it brought together a since of unity, and love to Philadelphia. Seeing people gather in the streets was exciting, it an enjoyable site to see, rather than the usual violence. I think that not going to the parade would just be horrible, I would feel like I wasnt apart of the team. I would feel like I was missing out on History.

Why Are Sports So Important To Our City's Identity?
Submitted by Ricky on Thu, 10/30/2008 - 19:39.
The sports that mean so much to our city is because sports seem to be something that can connect with everyone all over the world. Sports is something that anyone can do and their aren't really a limit to a sport, but only the rules in the actual game. So a city's identity can be from their sportsteam and in a way if that team is great at a sport, it'll equal big braggin' rights. So overall it's just a giant ego game. But in my overall opnion I could really care less.

i was in my bedroom.....
the fact that they won did not matter to me.
the fact that an entire city united even if it was for only one night. its such a wonderful feeling. a feeling that you are linked too millions of people in a common bond of excitement and unity. ........ it's just amazing.a
Go PHILLIES!!!!
Submitted by McKelly Timothy on Thu, 10/30/2008 - 19:34.
Phillies are everything to the city right now. It has been 28 years since we have won the world series. To not be involved in an event so historical would make me feel like I am not a part of this city. I would love to be a part of this memorable celebration. When a sport team plays another team, they represent our city. Sports are important to a city's identity because it shows what talent Philadelphia has and it demonstrates how strong of a city we are for us to have made it this far. To finish this I would to say Go Phillies, it may have taken 28 years but we did it again!!
The Night The Phillies Won!!!!!
Submitted by Quianna Nelson on Thu, 10/30/2008 - 19:32.
When the Phillies won i was on the phone in my room talking to my best friend when the captions on the bottom of the tv said that the Phillies won the World Series and they were the champions. I started screaming and yelling and my friend thought I was dying. Then I told him and he started yelling to. I ran outside and everyone was running up and down th streets screaming and yelling. People were crying and going crazy!! Then they started the fireworks and the fire crackers. But when they started shooting so I went inside. Every time something good happens people want to shoot. But before all that happened we were having so much fun laughing and screaming at the top of our lungs.
ILP Frustration
Submitted by Brandon Williams on Thu, 09/11/2008 - 19:47.
1. Well unfortunately, I didnt have an ILP yesterday. I am extremely frustrated because, when I was told my ILP I was dissapointed. Some of the freshman were excepted to CHOP, which was my first choice and I wasnt. I felt that having this ILP would have been essential for me. My new ILP was St Christophers Hospital, I think it was good that they were able to get me into another hospital. But this ILP is just not commutable, and my intentions was going to CHOP.

1. My ILP was ok I thought that going back to TFI was going to be bad. having to go through a whole nother year, but it was ok. I like the fact that I can go almost anywhere that I want and meet new people and have a great experience.
ILP Frustration
Submitted by McKelly Timothy on Thu, 09/11/2008 - 19:45.
Yesterday was supposed to be my first day of my ILP. But CHOP decided that I was a "NO." I was told with a few of my other classmates that we had meet with Jeremy. When I had to be detained in school. I was then told that I have to go to CHOP but I had to write 5 goals for my ILP and show them to Jeremy. After that I was dismissed. This made me so FRUSTRATED. I am very upset at the fact that I have no idea what my ILP is about and what responsibilities I will have. Nothing about my ILP seems good. My ILP seems like it is going to be challenging.
My First ILP Experience
Submitted by Bianca Nigro on Thu, 09/11/2008 - 19:41.
Yesterday I started my ILP at Atria Center City. It is a senior living home. I didn't do much yesterday but I was introduced to esidents at the home and I took a tour of the building. The people that work there are very friendly and so are the residents. My jobs that I will have to do/perform consist of playing games with residents, talking with the residents, and just keeping the residents happy. The only thing that seems bad about this is that some older residents aren't as friendly and I am afraid that I may say the wrong thing to the wrong person. but other then that I am really going to like my ILP for the 10th grade year.

I have no idea what to expect at my ILP. I have not been there yet. I have not met anyone yet.
It doesn't start until October 29. So that's it again. I don't know what my ILP is going to be like.
The only things I do know is that ACE is at 440 N. Broad Street. The time is very frustrating
because Wednesday we get out early and my ILP doesn't start.

1. It was nice, calm area and the people were pretty chill. They told us we'd be starting off with archiving documents and videos. But overall it was a good time there.
2. We will be starting off archiving stuff for them and getting lessons.
3. The people, the experience, and it was good overall.
4. Getting around.
