Two SLA Teachers Become Nationally Board Certified!

Congratulations to SLA Humanities teacher Josh Block and SLA Spanish teacher Melanie Manuel on being recognized as Nationally Board Certified teachers. National Board Certification is an intensive process that requires deep study and a length application process. As of this most recent certification process, there are only fourteen board certified teachers in the School District of Philadelphia. Congratulations to Mr. Block and Ms. Manuel for joining this elite group!

A Note From Home and School President, Anne Marie Sweeney

To the SLA Community,

I wanted to address the unfortunate events involving Philadelphia H&S President Greg Wade and charges which have been made against him. I want to assure all SLA Parents and Guardians that this in no way affects the SLA H&S Association. We have very little interaction with the Philadelphia H&S Association, other than paying dues. We urge you not to view SLA H&S in a bad light due to this unfortunate incident. We will continue to serve our school’s community to the best of our ability. Thank you for your continued support!!
