I really loved how you chose to write a diary from Maya's mom's perspective in rehab because I agree that she had so much impact in Maya's life and it's really interesting to see situations from her perspective. Seeing this book from the side character's perspectives can be very insightful and put more meaning into the book!
I totally agree that even though Mayas mom is a small character she plays a big role. I liked how you made diary entries for her and wrote in her perspective
